Yep, the analogue speedometer is useless. They should have used that space for oil temp & pressure and had the digital speedo only.

The analogue speedo is seriously crappy, especially if that's all you've got. I've got a nice big digital speedo on my Torque Pro display and it helps - somewhat. But it's not connected to my right foot. ![]() I still need a cruise control for long trips. The problem is that it's a fun and engaging car to drive, and I find myself not just speeding a little bit, but a lot. I've got the same problem with my turbo Fozzie. It naturally gravitates towards 170'ish where it's comfortable, but that's not OK. If it didn't have a cruise control I'd have been in the slammer long ago.

A new XT is sadly over R500k now, but Fozzie resale value is terrible. Don't know why because they're brilliant.
So there are amazing deals to be had on s/h Fozzies if you shop around a bit. eg: http://www.foresterforum.co.za/showthread.php?t=1363

Thanks, that does seem like a bargain. I think they problem is that they don't look good in Sandton while climbing pavements. Their loss.
I need to sell my ST first but I'll be looking for a 2005/6 2.5 XT Saw one for R99k with 104k on the clock in immaculate condition but the timing is not right.

Some considerations: 1. 100,000km service is a big one, about R12k (timing belts). Check whether done, and done properly. 2. Stock XT rear suspension is self-levelling and prone to failure if used harshly. Most Owners convert it to the standard, non self-levelling suspension. Standard looks like a normal McPherson strut, self-levelling has a second tube on the side and some small pipes. 3. XT's are very exciting to drive, but are heavy on fuel - be warned. Especially if you have an over-active right foot. 4. Goes like stink - my XT's licence weight is only 1425kgs, 165kw, 320nm - go figure... Enough torque to almost take your neck out of joint, and top speed limited to 220 which it reaches easily. PS: And they're amazingly competent off-road too, with over 200mm ground clearance. However, the XT doesn't have low-range which the NA version does have, but the XT has quite a low 1st gear and exceptional low rev torque.

Awesome, thanks! I have a very over-active right foot.
![]() It'll be a weekend & holiday car though, so I doubt mileage and fuel cons would be a huge concern. Realistically I'd probably be getting one with around 150k on the clock.
