My car took 3 trips to the dealership. I went there looking for a hot lava FRS (which they had none) and my whiteout that I bought was on display on the showroom. Came back that weekend and ended up test driving my car (only FRS that wasn't blocked in so they backed it out of the showroom for me to drive). Left a deposit and picked it up the next night after work. I guess it was meant to be from the start.

Test drove a red FRS, wasn't ready to buy just then (and they said they couldn't sell it without leather, shenanigans) went down the street and drove a V6 Mustang, felt like a truck decided that ruled out the other "muscle" cars (Camaro, Challenger, Genesis, 370Z) because if the BEST of them didn't live up to the FRS why bother driving the others? Drove an Abarth the week after and had serious second thoughts, slept on it and then began seriously searching for an FRS.
4 months later test drove an Asphalt that I put down a deposit for, drove it home that night. |

Test drove an auto FRS, and a manual one (I ended up buying the manual one). Mine had 4 miles on it when I test drive it, 7 when I bought it. Some other young kid wanted to test drive it right after I did but I was all:
![]() He looked like a little punk anyway and was going to buy it on daddy's dime. I worked hard for my little baby. ![]() Also test drove a 350Z (decent but lacked style, inside and outside), a 370Z (liked it but out of my price range), a Mustang GT (it was powerful yes, but I was afraid to push it because it felt unsteady) and a Genesis Coupe 2.0T (didn't fall in love with it). When I sat in the FR-S, me and my girlfriend were both like "Yep. This is the one. This one right here. I don't even care what color it is as long as it's not black." |

Didn't test drive mine, just ordered it without first hand experience with the BRZ. My first new car and also my first standard car! Definitely loving the manual trans so far!

I didn't test drive mines. I got M/T. Never driven M/T before in my life. It was 10pm when I left the dealership and I live all by myself. Stalled driving out the dealership. Stalled trying to get on the freeway. Miss shifted so many times and was scared as hell when driving home. lol. Safely got home and was scared to drive to work the next morning. lol

I ordered mine the first day i could, while it was still just unpainted body parts in Japan. Mine was scheduled to be the second through the dealership, once they had the line up, the first was a hot lava auto that was sold within hours of hitting the dealership floor (as a mid life crisis sports car haha) So.. my test drive was watching a tech drive it off the transport into the service bay, watch the PDI tech drive it out, then back in, then i drove it out of the service center, into a parking spot, and signed the papers. So really.. i guess i could have technically said no, had the seats not been to my liking, etc, or i could have demanded a full test drive, but sitting in it, seeing it, and thinking about it for so long.. I didn't need to lol, it was my car already.

Bought mine may 2012, scheduled for a february 2013 delivery. My dealer got the first GT86 in the country in august, that was my first testdrive. Took delivery in december 2012. Longest wait of my life.
