I realize this is not new information, but I thought we could consolidate this into one thread.

This is the email I received this morning from a dealer in north Florida:

I am in the process of confirming this with Dave and I's dealer in Tampa, but given the number of positive posts on this topic, it looks like we are off to the races next Monday. I'm so excited!

good info!!!

MSRP = Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price, which is the price Subaru tells the dealership they should sell the car at.

Invoice = This is the price that the dealership pays to Subaru for the car. Usually the dealership is financing the cars as they sit on the lot and so the quicker they can get rid of them the more money they can make.

I just got an e-mail back from dealer #2 and I was told that on Monday the dealership would be receiving information on the price of the car and what cars they will initially receive. He told me once they had that information I can pick which one I want (out of whatever they are supposed to get) and we go from there. Looks like it may come in handy having contacts at multiple dealers if the first one doesn't get the model (color) I want.

I agree 100 percent bro!

Now if the FR-S is really $23k...that is $4k less than the BRZ-L...hmmm a big chunk of change...I would go with the FR-S. But now they are saying FR-S are not order-able, it's what comes in is what you have to choose. My dealer is clueless on this also.

3 in my town (or metro area). I stopped by one today after a DR appt (not the one grinch and I are working with) and I went into the showroom to see if they had any info.. the place was completely void of people. Not a single salesperson, service person, manager, etc in site at 2PM. No wonder they only have 12 new Subarus on the lot.

I only have 2 in my area...I gave them both a call yesterday very nice people. One of them said they'll be getting a demo car any day now and they took my information down to give me a call when it arrives and the other didn't do deposits but I'm put on a waiting list there so its first one to get back to me I guess...I don't think many people in this area know about this car and I hope it stays that way call me selfish!

exactly my thought!
I could pre-order a car right now and them BOOM it's $30k car.
I know you can get your money back but I'd rather have it in my pocket.
this is for the typical apple consumer who buys the first stuff no matter what.

invoice is supposed to be what the dealer paid for the car which is BS
they pay A LOT less.
MSRP (manufacturer suggested retail price) is for the idiots that show up with a lot of money and just say "I'll take that one"

I've purchased 5 cars for invoice. I give the dealer the OTD based on invoice and I tell them I pay this or I leave.
very simple process and it has always worked for me.

Put down a refundable $500 deposit, which is not cashed until you actually purchase and pricing will be out in a few weeks or so, and if you don't like the price they tear up the check that was never cashed... So what is the issue again?

Who knows? I know the rumors have been bouncing around back and forth for about a month now about them. One day there will be pre-orders, the next day there won't be. Hopefully Monday will answer a lot of questions.
