If in doubt, bring some! I can't make it this weekend (work grumble grumble), but in terms of all motors and coolants, you're just looking at the overflow bottle. Not like engine oil where when it's on low it a crazy bad thing.
The coolant will expand when warm, keep that in mind as well. Check levels once the car is up to temp.

![]() ![]() ![]() Sooo much fun next time ill have a go pro tires an brakes. Ran completely stock so I know the cars factory limits. Held my own against the supercharged zl1 for almost 3 full laps then missed an apex so I was slow into the straight and he passed me. Murdered the gt500 and the blue STI was surprisingly easy too. My biggest complaint was by session 3 my tires got squirley and I drifted a lot loosing some speed. But hit 102-106 every straight. This car went way above expectations. Keep in mind we were in the novice class so I know a gt500 with an experienced driver would kill me normally lol.

Nice seeing everyone,
I'm still working on getting my Torque Track Recorder video properly converted so it's clipped, rotated, and displays the Revs/Speedo. Here's what I see... ![]() Here's a recording on Youtube [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DI-GsnoVez8"]Last Session Silent Lap - YouTube[/ame] Not bad for a $25 Mount Tek off of Amazon a few days before the race and a Galaxy S3. It's no goPro but the phone was free so it's certainly a lot more affordable. ![]() More Photos http://imgur.com/a/twLab#0

Cool pics in your link of my run group. Of those, I overtook: WRX Sti BMW M3 (2), a 6 and a V8 BMW 3??, an older white one with the duct tape that was fast Lotus Elise Mazda RX-7 MR2 J Spec 20V Corvette C-6 TSX S/C Mustang 'Vert Mustang Shelby GT500 NSX but only b/c he spun out in front of me on Turn 6 exit Nobody overtook me all day. I didn't look at any gauges except temps that remained cool. I was on the rev limiter in 4th for the last hundred yards of both straights, have to calculate speed from there. The stock brake pads faded during Lap 2 of the first stint, disappointing. I had to retire with a lap remaining on the last stint b/c the ABS started kicking in all the time even with less than threshold braking. The pads are toast, only about 50% effective on the street coming home so will be replacing them this week. It was my excellent instructor's first time in an FR-S and at day's end called it a "great little car" and wasn't surprised about the brakes since "you worked it pretty good" and "nobody else had anything on you". He signed me off for future solo HPDE events but I'm not sure which way to go. I'd like solo seat time but also appreciated his effective tips well matched to my style. I'll be signing up for the September 6th event (with a brake pad upgrade) and hope to see all of you there again! Last edited by torqdork; 08-12-2013 at 03:48 PM. Reason: Corrected date to Sept. 6. |

Here's one of my laps. Still overlaying the data on other laps. Such a fun time. I'm going again in September I think.
