Finished prepping this AM. Stiffened up the KW's a bit too. The brakes bite hard. ABS kicks in right away.

DO YOU WANT A RIDE IN A RACE CAR?

Cascade Sports Car Club is hosting this drivers school but they are also hosting the Saturday/Sunday races. Please come back to PIR on Saturday and Sunday to watch the races!!!!

But wait, there's more!

This is a special weekend for Cascade Sports Car Club, once a year they host a race weekend in which they support the Doernbecher Foundation. If you're attending the races you can donate money to the foundation and in return get a ride in a race car that is racing that weekend (at speed!). Rides are dependent on time and availability.

So please come back to the track after your Driver's School and watch some racing, donate to a good cause and possibly get to ride in a proper race car.

Adrenaline Racing in Lake Oswego did my alignment and corner balance today. Went with -3* up front and -2.3* in the rear.

Tonkin Toyota is doing mine this morning but being a warranty service must stay within specs although I'm bringing a couple boxes of donuts and hoping for the best. Looking for 0 toe front, 0 or slight - rear, as much neg camber as possible w/o crash bolts. I'll get before/after printouts.

Gotta go torque the wheels now then Krispy Kreme then say hello to Big Bob, Tonkin's alignment guy and former racer.

What did Adrenaline Racing charge for your setup? Sounds like you're well prepared. Watch for my point-by!

AR does alignments for $195 and will align + corner balance for $295. I had PSI do my alignment last year and they charge by the hour and it ended up being $270 just for an alignment with them.

Eddie and the guys at AR were better to deal with and my car feels great. The rears were way off spec from what PSI said they set it at. My car will be sent to AR for all things suspension. Eddie and his guys are instructors for the HPDE days as well and they will be there on Friday.

I would absolutely do business with AR again.

As for the folks asking about track prep:

Minimum requirements
-Brake pads have more than 50% meat on them
-Tires are still in good condition
-Lug nuts are tight
-Brake lights work
-Remove loose items inside the car once at track
-Helmet that meets requirements

It's that easy.

You might want to bring a tire pressure gauge and a torque wrench too. Any other prep is simply going to be dependent on what you want to achieve or learn while on track.

See you out there.

Highly probable I will not make it this time around. Doing some testing on a new supercharger and the tune is being updated. If I like how the car runs this evening I will complete registration this evening if spots are still open. Take a look.

Just dyno'ed. . . . I think I am out for friday until the Tune is done. . . Take a look at the Dyno Graph at PRE.

Don't forget pants or some kind of sweat pant. They don't want people racing with shorts. Can't remember if long sleeve shirt is required as well but don't think so since I'm not remembering that.

It would be cool to see the electric supercharger in action!

on the pants. I don't remember on the shirt either so bring a long sleeve shirt just in case.

I instruct with a different club and short sleeves are OK.

Don't forget to get up bright and early tomorrow people. All of us should park next to each other when we get there. If some of you reading this aren't able to race with us, you should come and watch. It's free to watch by the way.

Once in the main gate just keep following the paved road until you reach the gate that crosses the race track. Inside that area is where we park and stage our cars.

See ya'll there.

Wx forecast is for low-mid 80's in town, add 6-8 degrees for the paddock asphalt effect and it's going to be toasty. Bring lots of water, sunscreen and a hat. I'll be setting up my lawn chair under the biggest shade tree available North of the paddock where we stage.

I read that the food vendors are closed Friday so either bring your own or there are fast food outlets nearby.

I'm not sure how many groups will run, but first off will probably be ~8:30.

If you didn't get your Driver Training Manual yet, check your junk mail folder. With Google's recent email change, that's where mine was even though the thread started in the Primary folder.

See you there.
