The main point of the FRS is not only about those you said above, which i agreed completely, it is about having fun with low cost maintenance. They hit it right on the head.

There are people who love after market turbo charge, and there are people who love stock turbo charge, like me. I only hope they do, if they dont, and when i can no longer wait, i can always consider other platforms
I came from a C6 corvette and an E46 M3, my last 2 cars.. While I enjoyed the performance and the status of driving these high HP rides.. I found myself not enjoying them on a daily basis.. They became garage queens, a trophy so to speak. My family thought I had dimensia when I let the vette go and started driving the accord full time.. It was a waste for me to have that money tied up in something that I couldn't really enjoy except for bragging rights..
So I test drove the FRS after reading about it for a year+
I bought it the next day.. I am enjoying this way more than either of my other cars. I can actually use the power in this one and still keep it fairly legal. The feedback this car gives me at legal speeds is simply amazing.. I had to do twice the speed in the others to achieve the same fun factor.. And when I think of the cost savings.. It only adds to the overall enjoyment of the car..
I've been driving for 45+ years now.. And this car is one of the most enjoyable I have owned.. Regardless of cost.. Not the fastest.. But speed is only part of the equation..

Totally agree with you. I am not asking for the FRS to be any crazy monster like those Shelby, or Zr1. I am only asking for a Reasonable Passing power on the Highway, that is it.

Now, there is no way that I bash the FRS. This is just totally my opinion for my own goods, and explanations toward why I am waiting.

I have been driving many cars, not as much as you do. But I can't drive a car with little torque to no passing power.

If only the FRS was to have 275 HP and 215+ Torque. I am sold. I don't care about turbo charge or not. But the only way to get that much = FI in this platform now. Therefore, I am waiting on the Stock FI one. I have time to wait

The 165 LBs/ft torque with 2800 lbs weight on this platform makes it Great for a Solo driver on a Track + Auto Cross. But add in a passenger + 2 wheels on the back as advertised, you will only see FRS does 0-60 in 10+ seconds.

I would love to go to the tracks with FRS where it can really shine, and Drift it, and experience the different Traction on different conditions of the road. But I can no longer do that due to my life situation.

I can only wait to buy a Daily Driven Practical Sport car. That is it.

You get respect when you give it and posting off topic on a thread isn't going to get you any respect in my opinion.

You don't see me posting all over the forum about my Supra do you..??

This is where it started. I guess I can't blame you because I was easily trolled. But without being collective on information sir, how do a soldier survive on the line ?

I didnt ever brag about my VR4 all over the forum either sir.

In post #9 I didn't see anyone talking about or quoting you.

End of story as I have no more time for this.

I am not going to argue with what your perception of this car is. The fact you don't own one or have any real experience with one makes your comments about this car insignificant.
But to say it doesn't have adequate passing power or is too slow is just wrong.
0-60 times in the low to mid 6 second range is descent by any standard. The car is not a torque monster and needs to be driven. You have to wring out the power.
There is no issue with passing power.. That's ridiculous.. That 12.5:1 CR really makes the car responsive and crisp. You just need to be in the right gear.. You need to drive it. That's the beauty of this car.. No turbo lag, no AWD or added complexity or weight.. A NA high revving engine with great throttle response. A good example of less is more. What it lacks in raw power .. It makes up for in chassis handling and feel.. Balanced and well executed..
I think the majority of those who own the car are more than pleased with its power.. Of course we always want more cause the chassis inspires it.. But this car is pretty fine right out of the box..

Look at the poll that shows how many people gave up higher horsepower cars fr the twins (raises hand). Coud the twins use more horsepower? What car can't (well there are a few). But they are quick, and as the popster above mentioned, you have to be in the right powerband for passing.

Whitigir - your heart is in the right place, but...

1) don't ever try to argue that a VR4 is better than a GTR. That would be like trying to argue that they're better than MKIV Supras. Or RX7's. The only one you MIGHT win an online debate against would be the 300ZX, but c'mon. We own these cars because they're beautiful and challenging. They're incredibly easy to get to 500-550 AWHP, and thanks to the AWD, power is easy to put to the pavement at whatever speed. They're actually quite reliable at that power level with little to nothing in terms of drive train modifications. I ran 11.1's @ 125 to 127 mph incredibly consistently at this "sweet spot". Go beyond that at your own risk, though...

2) Mitsu made a few great cars - eclipse GSX, evo (I really loved the EVO IX MR), 3000GT VR4 ... But I intend to keep my VR4 forever and can only assume Mitsu will not be here to support me in the not-too-distant future.

That said - Can't we all just get along? Here's my 2-ton shit box (actually 3250 lbs) next to the car I intend to turn

And to answer the thread, all I gave up was cash and space in the garage!

haha
