 I'm indifferent to it, possibly because none of my cars ever had one. The S2000 flashed the tach near redline but I never noticed it.

This is the most realistic figure I have heard yet, but it still seems light to me. That is only 18000 cars between the brz and the frs if they sell in equal #s. in a 15 mo model year that isn't a lot of cars. I am still expecting combined sales to be about the same as the 350z which was over 30k cars.

ya... i agree. this is a small number of cars. however i am wondering if this also have to do with partially keeping the car at a "desirable" level among enthusiasts or if it has to do with manufacturing limitations (natural disaster and all)

I just came back from my local dealership. I put down a refundable deposit for a Limited WR Blue BRZ!

My [very nice] saleslady called Subaru right then and there and got some info "from the horses mouth". Subaru USA is planning on 640 BRZ's for the "initial allocation", and then only 600 more BRZ's for the rest of the model year [if I wrote it down correctly in my notes]. My dealership will only get 6 BRZ's total for MY13, and I'm #1 on the list since I actually put down a deposit. My dealership will input my order next Thursday, 1March, and the schedule is to have the car ready for delivery "early May".

This is the first car I've ordered w/out driving!

err... that's alot lower than our speculated... 3000 per year... so if it's about 600 cars for 6 months... that's 1200 cars per year? o.o
