My best guess would be that in the development process not much time was devoted to testing 91 octane. Both the crickets and this detonation issue seem to originate from this oversight.
More importantly, can we verify the current us-Toyota Ecu flash solves this issue? |

Both from Toyota and others who have done datalogs and then modified their tunes to fix it. Everything is a wear item, but I don't like my wear items to have accelerated wear due to shitty OEM ECU programming. I stuck with the OEM ECU/tune to avoid issues like this, until Subaru releases the corrected ROM to US customers it seems that I should get a tune that addresses this putting myself at risk from a warranty perspective while fixing this issue that "doesn't exist"....

Visconti has stated in his most recent tune that the fix is in place. I'm currently running that tune. Spark tables have been updated to retard post 5.5k. I don't know if that lingo is correct as I'm no expert but just stating what I've read.
