Supra are iconic no doubt they have held lots of value for years. However that light is pinching abit. When Toyota FT-1 goes into production you'll see value fall off pretty damn quick so that's something to consider is all. Sure that'll be a year or two but it's coming.

Not when the price for the FT-1 is over $100k.

Thanks for the comments guys, really restoring my lost hope in the supra (I think its just because its been about 4 months since iv driven it and I didn't get much seat time in it last year).

On topic of the FT1, I don't think even if it is called the Supra that it will affect MKIV prices, Mine already isn't at the top concidering its a swapped car, but it does have a hard top! The MKIV numbers are already so limited and with there being such a gap between a MKIV and a MKV, I doubt it will have any affect on price. Another reason they hold their price so well is because of what they were, an over engineered 90's Japanese muscle car. We just wont see anything like that from Toyota again.

If it's collecting dust sell it. Cars are meant to be enjoyed not collected because they will be 'worth more' someday, it still costs you money every day you own it: insurance, & maintenance. Not to mention you have no idea which way the market will go, I don't think Supra's are sure fire investments over the next 10 years, beyond that sure, but you don't know where you'll be financially in 5 years, let alone the market.

If you have the means keep it, but not as a sculpture.

Edit: And it's definitely too soon to tell if the FRS scratches your itches. You could regret it immensely, I don't know you.

Also: wrong forum.

Keep the Supra! I sold a pristine 93 RX-7 and have regretted that sale everyday since...

Worst case wait a few months and then revisit your thought process.

They are desirable cars and they are no longer being built...that's my .02 cents

90's Japanese cars will become classics IMO.

Keep the Supra.

For those that commented that the FT-1 production will kill this Supra's value, that's like saying the 2000GT value would drop with the next Toyota sports car launch.

It's a piece of history - doesn't matter what comes afterwards. It's not like we're comparing a 1993 Supra to a 1994 Supra. It's a Supra, period.

I vote for you to keep the Supra.

Most all of us have had cars that we wished we had never sold.

That Supra might just be yours ....

@husker741

I'm assuming your this is your own assumption, therefore what if production cost comes in at 55-65k now what?

This isn't the lfa here and Toyota has never had a vehicle near that point they know it wouldn't sell in numbers near 100k...

There's been nothing posted saying a final firm price anywhere. My "opinion" is that if production final sales cost is 65k or under that yes it would affect Supras. Reason they've held prices is rarity and being Toyotas most recent "real" sportscar. But we'll see I suppose few years to go...why would someone pay 40k + for a supra minty and not go 25k more to get something up to date? That's what mainstream people are going to say given it's within that 25-30k range... IMO of course

I say keep it if you can financially. At least till you've driven the new car for a while.

And not to Jack the thread, but I think husker is assuming the price is over 100k because of what the concept seems to be. The concept as is, I can see that kind of price. Obviously production won't look lIke that, so we can then assume a reasonable, competitive price. Obviously Toyota isn't going to compete with companies like Ferrari and Lamborghini, etc.
