What do you think I'll get for my FRS? Whiteout with less than 5k on it... Really good condition, it only has a scuff on one of the rims from a curb.
Family + Kid = biggest reason why I am looking forward to the new WRX. I just can't wait long enough

Aww, Shawn, I'm sorry to hear this. You seemed to take such delight in your new car. This is sad news.

I don't know what's happening with you just now, and I don't mean to pry, but will trading away your wonderful FR-S right NOW actually help in your current problems?

Could you wait a little? A couple weeks, a month, maybe? Perhaps wait until you get your insurance renewal … with the jacked up rates? Then shop around and see if maybe you can't still keep it?

Things might look better then, and maybe you'll see a way to manage to keep your beautiful car.

I'd hate to see you act precipitously in response to whatever's happening right now, and then regret your decision later, compounding your troubles.

I'm trying to be helpful here, Shawn; I hope you understand that.

I see FRS go for $22k all day long (used) that's already $3k under msrp, plus the tags, tittle, fees you are losing around $5k total.
I was gonna get an FRS until I saw how much better the BRZ holds it's value and you can get it for the same price or cheaper than the FRS.

here's perhaps another thought, from someone with 3 kids (youngest is 2.5y).. keep the fr-s as a casual driver, get a minivan for 10k, .... after right.. you didn't buy a 60k sports car for a reason.. you were already thinking of your growing family. I would do it all over again.

That's what minivans are for, coloring the leather seats with markers, 18 cupholders, etc.

^^ second what he said. If not a minivan, get a sedan or a SUV.

I sold my '12 WRX for an FR-S. loved that car and miss it quite a bit. The sound and power was awesome. $900 and jumped up 70whp and nearly 100lb ft of torque.

As an all around car, I still say it's the best car you can get for under 30k. Especially the wagon. It can do everything you need a car to do and more.

The only reason I got rid of it was cause I wanted another rwd car to play with. Maybe fown the road, I'll pick up a new STI for a daily

My wife drives the Escape. I now drive the FRS.

We have two kids. Young kids. 1 is 20 months and the other is 5 months.

Thanks for the help guys. I got a little over 21,000 for my trade in and I got a really good deal on a cheesy little 2013 Hyundai Accent SE hatchy. It's a huge downgrade, but it's at least got a 6 speed manual trans that shifts surprisingly well. I'm saving a lot of money this way and my situation isn't getting better any time soon. I'm going to miss my awesome FRS and this forum has been great while it lasted. See you guys around... Maybe in a few years I'll get the next model FRS.

That's a very fair price. Marhofer was an awesome dealer to work with. Everyone there is really friendly and they were extremely honest and fair with me. Obviously they didn't rip me off, their profit margin on that car isn't very high. I honestly can't recommend that dealer enough.

Edit: if you want to buy it, go and ask for Matt Roberts and tell him I sent ya! He was an awesome dude. I was in and out of that dealership in a few hours.
