Could be worse though..
You live in Canada too?

Yea I believe the process is

Japan -> Ship -> Vancouver -> Freight Train -> Scion Distribution Center -> Flatbed -> to your local dealership ->

There really is no such thing as reasonable or normal when it comes to this problem. The car I bought in September was only the 2nd FR-S the dealership had ever seen. That's because they were a small town, small volume dealer and the number of FR-S's they received was based solely on their past sales volume. It was fortunate for me that the car was the color I wanted. (I should say it's not the color I wanted but between the choices offered by Scion it was my first pick but that's another matter.)

I think this is relatively common for any car that needs to be delivered from overseas. My previous car, a MINI, had a similar uncertainty around a delivery date. It depends on the cargo ship schedule and then customs can throw a kink in there too. I remember the MINI dealer telling me customs can either be real quick or can cause all sorts of weird delays.

Yeah!

I'm from Edmonton but spend most of my time in Saskatoon for work.

So that's the process.. Makes sense why it takes so long then I guess. I can't wait!

^^this!

I've read at least one or two forum members here have purchased a stock FR-S in the color they wanted from an out of state dealer and paid for them to ship it to them via freight. Colder states may still have an influx of FR-S on their lots due to weather. I live in a tiny town in central florida and i counted on the drive home from work at the local toyota/scion dealership 6 FR-S. I later went online out of curiosity to see what the A/T vs M/T ratio was and it was an astounding 1 A/T (Raven) vs. 5 M/T (1 firestorm, 1 raven, 2 whiteouts); the raven and firestorms have minimal dealer options on it while the whiteout has bespoke, mudflaps, clear paint protection stickers, and maybe some tint.

Sounds about normal. I waited nearly 4 weeks to arrive but did not have to put down a deposit
