YES... haha. I am glad you said it and not me but it is exactly what I've been thinking. I just booked a trip to go snowmobiling in Utah with the money that was supposed to be for my downpayment. I'm not giving up though I'm just going to wait until next year when it won't be such a cluster... this car just isn't what I thought it was going to be all these years. I'll still buy one but there's nothing about it that really gets me excited like the original concepts did. Reality has set in and this car is not the second coming of Jesus after all. It's still better than anything else on sale today, but just not worth jumping through hoops for.

IF it is easy to get one this year, and not too expensive, I'll still buy one, but that's looking less and less likely by the day.

and if the rumor about 1200 PER YEAR in the US is true that is just humongous epic failure

I'm not about to move on. This car is exactly what I have been waiting for from my favorite manufacturers, so I'll stick around...

But, bro, if it is more practical or financially beneficial for you to just pick up a different or used car, then do it!!! Nobody is forcing you to get a Zx6! We'll like you no matter what car you get!!!

Pshtt... 2009... I first heard about this thing summer '08. Been waiting ever since.

I'm not going to get one for at least a year... I need a new car like, now. I actually can't wait a few more months. But I needed a more practical car anyway, so the 86 can be my 2nd car.

For me, it's not so much waiting on the car, I'm ok with that. It's more just not knowing when or how much. One thing that bugs me is I start deploying soon. So I'd like to know when it's coming out so I can work it out with the dealer.

This...i want to arrange financing etc.....but im willing to wait because i am bored with most available cars...i have seen it all and i want a fresh chassis to start with...i was debating on doing another itr....or maybe an ls1 240sx...but im getting too old for rebuilds, breaking down etc....i just want a reliable fun daily with a nice set of wheels and stance...

But this whole not knowing the price thing is getting a bit annoying....

Acura having a commercial on a concept was a mistake imo. It's too early, and it engenders the very posts that you're making. Give it two years, and you'll have Acura NSX forum people complaining, "it takes too long!"

You make it sound like car launches are easy, and that they're just purposely delaying it. An all-new car needs to get tested, a lot. If they released it prematurely, this same forum would be blowing up with, "omg why are there so many problems why didn't they wait and polish it moar!"

:happy0180: Spot on.

The price estimate has been known for a long time. If -+$2k is detrimental to your finances, reconsider buying a new car and live within your means.

FYI, we haven't had any snow this yr... My friend went snowboarding and she said it sucked really bad. Not much powder snow...

On topic, it's interesting to see new members are going crazy for waiting another 3~6 months wait vs old member are totally fine waiting. I guess, old members here waited ling enough (some are over 2yrs), it doesn't really matter waiting several more months.

I rather wait until they get the car as best as they can get it. They could have easily just given us a rwd corolla and called it a "sports car". Toyota didn't. They have been pouring their blood sweat and tears into this project. This car is going to be something special. Only a few months left to go, we're almost there!!!
Maybe just wait until you can test drive the frs/86/brz before deciding on building another s chassis.

I was also in the same boat thinking it might be better to have a dedicated daily driver and a weekend toy...but the Zx6 cars are going to be able to do it all. Daily driving duties along with an autocross car. Just one car to insure and register. Just one car to move if moving residence. Just one car to worry about maintenance. Life is simpler with just one car, especially when you're single with no children and you're living in an apartment.

I suppose a current GTI, Mazdaspeed 3, Genesis coupe, etc could fit the bill but like many other people have posted, its the only one that fits all the criteria I've set forth for the perfect one car.

I've been waiting for this car since 2008, during that time I've test driven the Camaro SS, Mustang GT, Dodge Challenger, GC 2.0 & 3.8, 370z Sport & NISMO... I'm still driving my 2006 tC because, despite all of those RWD having great points, I'll be bored with them quickly or have to spend over a third of the car's worth to get them to handle like I want. I've also driven the Mazda Miata and Porsche Cayman... both awesome cars off the lot, but too impractical; I want my next car to be a daily driven auto-x/TT/HPDE that I can still transport my audio equipment. If the reviews for the FR-S/86 are an accurate reflection, the FR-S will be exactly what I want, so I'm willing to wait a little longer.

I've said this since everyone started crying about no pricing after the auto show reveals. Spread out over financing (let's be real, you people are clearly not paying cash), it's nothing. Anyone waiting to hear on pricing to know if they can afford it, can't.
