I suspect this will be dealership by dealership issue. I know that when the STI came out some dealers priced over MSRP and others did not. Just depends what your area/local dealer does. No way to predict. However dealerships tend to do this with a new launch. It could happen here with the BRZ. YMMV.
Ya I remember reading this. Who knows... i guess it's definitely possible

Just to clarify things, our deal in Tampa, thanks to Dave, is invoice +$. Once I had that deal secured and since Tampa is a good 3hr drive for me, I spoke with my local dealer to see if they would give me invoice +$, and they told me no, but did say they would only charge me MSRP and not over (I'm still # 2 on that list, with no deposit, but have no intention to buy from them). Then, this past Thursday, I was traveling to GA on business, and made a stop by a Subaru dealer to look at the DMG color, and during that visit, the Sales Manager informed me he had several on a wait list and they would be paying 2K over MSRP and that they knew the terms of the deal...which I thought was pure BS on the dealers part.

Bottom line, I some dealers are going to attempt to charge more, others will keep at MSRP, and a few made deals for invoice +$, but like our deal, it has been closed to additional buyers, other than the initial group, which could have been just good timing prior to them learning of the potential limited supply.

That's my best guess at this point.

Exactly. If I was faced with MSRP+"regional market adjustment" I'd simply wait. Hell I'd have touble paying MSRP even lol I just can't stand buying cars at regular price when I know some patience will save me a thousand+ dollars.

I'm not even 100% sure he was the one mentioning the Subaru dealer that was asking over MSRP for the BRZ. I need to search for that post.
It was him, and yes, it was a dealer in GA.

As long as they get some at the dealerships sooner than May so we can get the process started to order some of these bad boys in.

Ah, $2K over Invoice, not $2K over MSRP.

Sorry I meant to say 2k over MSRP. I will edit my original post so there is not confusion. I'll got invoice + on the brain.

Ah, now that I couldn't stomach. If anybody even tries to charge me a penny over MSRP I'm gonna be taking my business elsewhere.

There's 9 dealerships here within a 4 hour drive and I'd rather pay money on gas than deal with a greedy dealership.

If demand is so crazy that all the dealerships are doing it... Then it might be a long year and maybe I'll be looking at a 2014 model instead. >_<

I'm sure with that many dealers in your area, many of them will be charging only MSRP. I think anybody that can get under MSRP in the beginning, should consider themselves very lucky. I'm with you on driving the extra distance to get a deal.

They didn't even announce or include the FRS into that program yet, keep your fingers crossed. Cause I am.

Remember, Pure Pricing means that everyone will pay the price ADVERTISED, either on the car, actual ads, a sign in the dealership, etc. It does *NOT* mean it has to be MSRP.
