![]() But seriously, sounds like you really prefer BRZ (for what reasons I don't understand) over FRS, so if you really want negotiate with him so you don't lose out too much in terms of finance, get residual value quotes for both cars and take the difference, and swap. |

He should be giving you way more than $500 based on how many KMS he has compared to you.
You're also taking the hit for a whole year worth of depreciation that your car doesn't have. Unless he's talking like $3-4000 I wouldn't do it. Even if I desperately wanted a BRZ I wouldn't take less than $2500 just because of the mileage.

@indesign beat me to it. Just swap all the visual parts. I'm pretty sure the headlights have the same wiring harness so that's not an issue. The rest would be even easier.

Seems like you should just sell the car entirely. You don't seem happy with your car if very minor things like this bug you.

I'd imagine you'd eat up most of that $500 on taxes and registration, and you're getting a MY older car with 10,000 more KM on the clock (and giving up your first brand new car). For the difference in vehicle value you'd lose, you might be able to buy the Subaru parts you want (or at least some of them).
Plus, keeping the GF happy is worth more than money...

Simple answer...make whatever decision makes you happiest. Logic has no effect when the heart wants what it wants.
