aaaaaaaaand this thread turned into a clusterduck.

ever since all the psychopaths starting shooting everything up all of us LEGAL LAW ABIDING gun owners get a bad rep. it sucks. i have never been arrested before. dont do drugs. and i live in the city. there are bad people in urban areas, much more than in other areas. it gives me peace of mind and i will (hopefully) never shoot at anything but paper targets.

lets all just get along. just because i carry a gun doesn't make me a paranoid 'murica shouting republican NRA humper. I carry to be prepared for the event that I one day may have to protect myself and those that I love.

Maybe you shouldn't open with stating your lack of bias in one paragraph and then lazily cite a conservative/right wing think tank. It's a logical fallacy called "appeal to authority."

Citing that think tank is inherently political when their research is steeped in ideology.

I have to ask and it's a serious question: Do you understand statistics and how it works? Cause it's like selection bias all up in this mofo.

I love it when people bring up Chicago. The guns used in crimes in Chicago actually come from the surrounding towns with less stringent gun restrictions that were legally purchased. I'm pretty sure that home burglaries that involve the theft of a firearm isn't at epidemic proportions, but straw purchasing IS a problem.

Government statistics is raw data and doesn't give any context. What!=Why

Illegal guns ALWAYS come from somewhere legal.

Ian Thomson was charged with improper storage of firearms with ammo and firing warning shots. As a firearm instructor, he should know better than any layman in regards to the laws about firearm storage and discharge. Personally, I think that he was justified in defending himself, but I strongly disagree with how he went about it, but my opinion isn't law.

Citation needed.

Burglaries are far more common than robberies because it's easier to steal shit when nobody's home.

As a child, my home was robbed twice and burglarized twice. There were no guns in the home and they would not have made a lick of difference.

For when the US decides to try and invade Canada again?

That's a joke btw.
A joke indeed.

I offered facts regarding the current firearm situation and your counterpoint contained none, just a joke.

Y'all need to keep the discussion to handguns and carrying them, before a mod steps in and closes this thread - ruining it for everyone. So once again, quit it please.

I carry a Kahr P380.

I started with a KelTec P3AT.
Then traded up to a Ruger LCP.
Then a S&W Bodyguard 380.

Now I've only got the Kahr.
The others were OK, but none of them had all the features, or lack thereof, that I wanted in a carry gun. I've always carried in my right front pocket. I think the Ruger LCP actually carried the best, but the Kahr has been much more reliable and accurate for me. Absolutely love the P380. I don't see myself upgrading for a long time. :-)

Shooting down logical fallacies and outright ideological bullshit in the guise of "facts" should be EVERYONE'S responsibility. I'd hope that if someone said that the sky is blue because it's the reflection of the ocean or that Columbus sailed across the Atlantic to prove that the earth was round, SOMEONE would correct them.

Someone used the rhetoric of lambs and wolves. Seriously, dogwhistles are all over the damn place. There are ways to discuss gun ownership without getting political and doing the above isn't it.

And in the spirit of this thread, if I could carry(I wouldn't if I could), I would have a USP 40 compact because the fullsize is too big for my tiny hands. I should really go with a Sig though because it fits my hand a lot better.

Yes. I had a crossbreed supertuck deluxe when I carried a Beretta PX4 Subcompact. It was a VERY good tuckable IWB. It's basically on par with CompTac's M-TAC holsters, but not modular. However, I think they're a bit easier to tuck with than the M-TAC.

That said, if you need to tighten down the holster to the gun, you've got to use a heat gun with the crossbreed.

All in all, though, it's an excellent piece of leather and kydex.

Just ran across another person said the same damn thing. I'm going to have to go try one of these.

I really like the LCP but man, you better be close to make it count!

As for full-sized pistoles, I've shot several other 9mm's (Sigs, glocks, 1911s) and I gotta say that when I'm shooting my CZ-75BD I feel like I'm cheating, like I have target seeking bullets. It's just that damn good.

I also like that my pistol says "POLICE" down the side of it.

The above post is possibly emotionally-politically motivated and propogandistic.

A common argument resorted to when no facts are present (non existant) to counter the truth.
An argument used by losers who have no proof to counter the truth.

Scientifically garnered comparative stats (numbers only) from different independant sources are not ideological bullshit.
The stats show WORLDWIDE that in civilized countries (Switzerland,Israel etc.) with legal firearms ownership and carry, violent crime and victimization is more than significantly reduced. A good thing. A cop on every block.

The rebuttal of factual evidence with such nonsense (including emotional and political appeal) has however been historically effective, i.e. Stalin, Goebbels, Rooseveldt, Putin, Obama etc. in curtailing human and civil rights, and in population control.

Numbers don't lie - only the misinterpretation of numbers lie.

I urge all to read and research prior to opining.

Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it.

(And no - I no longer carry my 9mm Browning High Power)

If you like that CZ wait till you try a CZ SP01 Shadow!

The most popular I.P.S.C. production gun for a very good reason !

The SP01 is what I originally wanted but could not find one anywhere from Everett to Tacoma. What sucks is now that I'm happy with what I got and not in the market for something else just yet I've seen them on 2 different occasions when visiting the range.

Damnit.

It can be converted to a Shadow very cheaply -

The CZ tru glo frontsight, recoil and hammer spring are available on the net and can be installed with no gunsmithing skills.

Faster cycling for competitive double taps and a lighter SA and DA trigger pulls !

To be an international champion the sears and contact surfaces need to be honed. That you can't do but many smithies can set you up (very cheaply as well).
