If you go uncatted all the way, you might want to keep your stock cat-back until you hear how loud it is.. it's going to be pretty loud, unless you got 2-3 resonators in there somewhere.

It wouldn't be a waste. I got FA20club's headers with a HFC, & resonator in the front pipe.. switched out the overpipe too. Kept my stock cat-back and the noise is very tolerable.. getting 200whp on E85 too. In terms of sound, the best way to describe it is it sounds like a quiet aftermarket cat-back with no other exhaust mods IMO.

I am going to put my stock cat back on with my JDL UEL Header, perrin over pipe, and perrin front pipe with HFC.

I would definitely keep the front pipe catted, and if possible a catted header too. Removing all the cats will make it very loud and raspy. I bet it'll be raspy even with the stock cat-back exhaust.

My car has the above setup w/ aftermarket axleback. 2 cats & the OEM resonator is still a bit ricey for me. Must be getting old... lol

I may try to slap the OEM axleback on again to see how much it helps w/ the sound quality.

Why are you getting rid of your perrin catback?

Because it is non-res and is a little too loud for me.

So will you be selling the Perrin catback and if so, how much?

That's great! Do you still get the signature Boxer growl from the setup. That's something I'm really looking for.

I think if the stock muffler had better exhaust tips it would be perfect. As ricey as it sounds, that's why I ended up getting the muffler delete. The stock muffler is also VERY quiet (especially compared to the muffler delete). Performance wise, though, I don't think there's any real gain in replacing the final section of exhaust, at least not until you're pushing a lot more air into the engine.
I already have the JDM tips that's the only reason I'm even considering keeping the stock catback. Those stock tips were so horrible, I can't believe they even came on the car in the first place. I was looking into a muffler delete but I don't like the rasp.

It might not be the boxer sound you're looking for, but you can listen for yourself..
It's still the stock cat-back, I just switched out the tips.

I am Running a P&L Catte Headers, Nameless over/front pipe, and stock catback. it sounds great. (stealthy) but still feels fast. made the video for just sound, its not full throttle. sounds a little bit off, notice my engine starting up when im going 15mph lol

If you want the "boxer rumble" you need an unequal length header, that's why most subaru's have the sound they do.
