My next car will be a new truck (probably an ecoboost ford). I'm going to need something a little newer than what we currently have to tow the boat.

In regards to the 60s vette, we have one sitting right now in a storage space taht hasn't been driven in 20 years. It needs a full resto, but I don't have time for it right now.

If I can remember correctly (beena while since I've seen it) it is a 67 stingray vert (silver/red). Maybe 40k miles? It's all original and one owner (was father-in-law's car)

I'm not really sure, a lot can happen in 3-5 years. If I was starting to look now I'd be looking at a used Boss or an NSX, maybe a CTS-V wagon. OR maybe 2 cars instead, FD RX7 garage queen and an e36 M3 track car/winter beater?

Per your Porsche maintenance questions, if you're buying the car you can likely afford to maintain it. You just have to plan ahead, make sure you have $2000-2500 on hand in case something goes wrong and for regular maintenance. My previous car was an E46 M3 and that is definitely on the high side of maintenance but if you plan for the major services and have a contingency for things that will inevitably break then you will enjoy the car and have a great couple of years with it.

It definitely worth paying a bit more up front for a car with great maintenance records and ones that have recent had recent major service done. If someone is anal enough to keep records and do $1500 worth of maintenance on a car they plan on selling then they've likely treated the car well over it's life and you shouldn't have too many problems down the road.

ALWAYS DO A PPI.

In all seriousness I've been eyeing the C5 & C6 Z06 corvettes. The cost for these cars (used) is fairly low right now and I'm hoping in the next year or so the cost will be even lower due to C7. This would be a great budget track monster.

I also like the thought of taking an ls1 camaro and making it a pure straight line drag strip car. Possibly built engine, and either nitrous, supercharger, or BOTH. I just don't know if its worth the money sink to do that sort of project

Sorry, I meant seriousness mostly replied to my original post on page ~1 or so. Not in reply to yours

I think used gt-r is a great buy. I'd be worried about buying a used db9 but heck it'd be a steal for the amount of class/dollar. Good choices

I can say this will be my first and last brand new car. My next car will most likely be an IS350/IS250 for commuting.
