I think you guys are on to something with SOCA.

The only drawbacks I can see are people thinking it is somehow related to Southern California.

And www.soca.com .net and .org are all taken.

A simple www.socaexpo.com would alleviate that issue.

I think we are getting closer. Keep the ideas rolling.

I definitely like the sound of Subiyota Owners Club America and Toyobaru Owners Club America.

How about spelling it Subiyota? Flow more smoothly than Suboyata...and still lets us keep SOCA. Also wouldn't have to deal with using copyrighted names at all so it would be a non issue.

Actually...the more I think about it the more I really like that. Subiyota(sue bee yo ta). It actually sounds like a real Japanese word.

Justin
Subiyota definitely rolls off the tongue pretty well, I like it. What else could we add to SOCA in order to get a non registered domain. SOCAmeet.com? Nah, sounds like a dating site...

Just a heads up, that Dave and I will both be attending the ITRExpo this year with our BRZs.

If you would like to be involved in the discussion of the group and are serious, it would be advisable that you come out to the expo this year.

There are only 3 spots left for Novice drivers. Registration is a mere $375, which is CHEAP for a track event!
www.itrexpo.com

We are putting together a short list of names, will advise and probably create a poll when the time is right.

I can most likely find you a ride from Texas. A buddy is coming from Houston.

NABFA or TOCA are my favorites so far. But I see Grimm's point in avoiding "NA"...

Would you guys prefer BFOANA (BRZ/FRS Owners Association of North America) or something similar?

TOCA/SOCA are the "cleanest" names we've come up with thus far, in my opinion.

How do you guys feel about SSOCA (SS being Subaru and Scion respectively). Still same pronunciation. We can work with Subaru and Scion about getting approval later on. It's this or Subiyota.

I have horrible paint skills, but I was thinking something along the lines of using the 86 emblem as an outline for the 2 "S". Obviously we need someone with some skills to tackle that side of things, and the logo is irrelevant in the grand scheme. I'm just trying to get the name hashed out so we can move to the next steps. I want to get the non-profit organization going.

SSOCA... so Subaru SCION Owner Club of America? For sec, I thought Super Sport Owner Club of America. When I think of SS, I think of American muscle cars lol

Call me elitist, but I prefer Subiyota or Toyobaru simply on the basis that this is not a Subaru and Scion club...it's a BRZ/FR-S club. Or is it?

Subaru Scion Sports Car Club [of (North) America]? Kinda like that actually... S^3C^2 hehe.
