Fenter and Harvey lead the Lincoln Pro solo right now, and Harvey especially is killing all the twins in '60 fit times.

Ogburn III is in third, and Manfred in 4th.

Manfred is the only twin driver remotely close to the NC Miata on 60' times. What is your launching RPM and strategy, and what do you think of the Rival-S tires? Which size did you go with? Good luck this weekend guys.
Looks like most of the BFG drivers went with 245/40, and the Bridgestones seem to be split pretty evenly between 225/45 and 245/40. Most Scions are on the TRD springs and bars.

It's obvious, it took me all of 5 seconds to ask an owner how he got so much camber up front. I would never protest it but just a heads up as people will. So if you are doing it and running towards the front...be careful.

The TRD springs help. I went from 1.4 to 1.9 up front.

I think that change in the geometry is where I made up a bunch of my camber. Before the springs I could only get 1.4 / 1.5 ish.

you guys are lucky. After the springs my LCA's are almost parallel with the ground now and I only gained a tenth-ish.

Seriously anything more than 1.5 ish up front is cheating, the OEM struts with crash bolts are barely -1.2 if you're lucky.

Agreed. The TRD springs barely affect front camber b/c of the strut front suspension. The multi-link rear gains much more camber with the lowering springs.

Has someone measured the spring perch height and other dimensions between a stock FRS front strut and the full Koni strut to see if there are differences?

What is off on them? Are the holes on the ears in the wrong place? When I got my MCS shocks originally they just had slotted holes, so I contacted MCS and they quickly made inserts to locate the shock in the exact right spot. If it ain't exactly the same as stock it is illegal.

Is 1.9 with the stock strut? What's the camber curve of the front suspension? It very well could be that just changing the springs may give you up to a half degree, putting you over 1.5 degrees on stock struts. As for the Koni's, as long as you pull the camber back into the range you would get with stock struts, you should be good. This is why I'm curious as to if 1.9 was TRD spring + crash bolts + stock strut.

Most? Haha my codriver and I were the only ones on BFGs in CS. We ran the 245/40/17.

The RX8 and M3 (IIRC) were on 245 stones. Everyone else was 225 or 235. Harvey/Fenter were on 225, they have the same size wheel as us.

The tires were pretty mushy, but otherwise I like them a lot. I'll probably go with the 225 next time, because an already-not-super-communicative tire getting pinched and mushy makes reading the tire that much harder. That said they make good grip, and holy hell they are EASY to launch!

I am not good at launching the car, mind you - go check my El Toro 60' times, or any of my times from last year (El Toro, Mineral Wells, Finale). These tires just made it way easier. Procedure was this:
1. Rev to 5k
2. Launch. Slip the clutch, keep throttle steady
3. At 10-20 feet, full throttle
4. At 30-40 feet, dump clutch

I didn't play with revving higher because it was working really well, and I didn't want to snap axles or burn my clutch. I'm sure 2.0 is possible with someone who is better at launching. Hard to say how much is the compound and how much is the extra width of the tire.

I'm not able to stay for the tour, so good luck to Dave and the other twins still there!

Still on the stock strut and using Toyota crash bolt: SU003-02818. Everything is by the book. I did loosen the two lower control arm bolts, pull and tighten, and then use the hub, jack method before tightening the two strut bolts. I am 100% confident it is legal... but maybe less confident that my camber gauge is accurate.

I had between 1.3 and 1.4 on all four corners prior to the springs. Now 1.9 front and 2.1 rear.

Has anyone checked the camber curve for our cars or know of a graph that is available online?
