Get the sway bar. Lightweight wheels are not nearly as big an improvement as that.

That 1/32" set I have right now? Bought in February last year, installed in March, and those tires did racing and DD. Hit the wear bars by September. Rivals are known for this though, given that they come from the factory with the lowest tread depth of the current top tires. Still, every heat cycle loses you some grip, so I recommend two sets of tires whenever possible.

If you can get the rpf1 for less than 500, id scoop them up and use them for DD and use your OEM wheels for autox.

And like you guys said, I think the rpf1 17x7 in silver are nationally backordered since October. We can still get the black no problem (for significantly less than tirerack, I may add).

Agreed, I'd do the sway bar. And don't get the big Whiteline bar - it's way too much. And skip the Konis until you're sure they're what you want.

Yeah, since I already have two sets of wheels I'm thinking this is the way to go. That way I can keep track wheels/rubbers safe until events. haha I'd also rather keep that money and put it towards Koni Yellows. It's definitely the smarter move. I'm pretty sure my driver mod needs more work before I will see a difference from the weight savings of new wheels. haha

Don't think I will run RS3s since I'm in Illinois and I've heard the RS3s don't do well in cold/wet conditions. Most likely going to go with ZII SS or RE11s.

Yeah, I plan on getting tires and an alignment next. Then after I run one event I will determine what bar I want to get. I'm figuring the Whiteline 20mm adjustable is likely the way I will go, but I will see how it handles after I get some sticky 235s on the car.

If I do Konis it wouldn't be for awhile. Like halfway through the season or so.

What part of Illinois are you in? I'm in Eastern Iowa and get to a few GRR events. I've only ran RS3s (since I stopped using race tires) but from what I've heard local everyone prefers them. They are pretty terrible in cold/wet (I managed to spin them at about 5k in 2nd gear on a ~50 degree, rainy day once) but during the season most events are going to be 70+.

The first event I did last year was 40 degrees and rain. Ended up with 2nd fastest time (both raw and PAX) on the Prius tires. Curse you, Trevor Jones.

I'm in the northern suburbs of Chicago. I'll be doing the full Chicago Region SCCA season at Rte. 66 Raceway and probably the full TSSCC season at well. Where does GRR race?

GRR is Great River Region. Mostly around the Quad Cities so a bit of a hike for you.

Yeah, that's probably a bit far. Especially if I'm already running two full seasons of autocross, with a few Windy City Miata events thrown in too. haha

What's the turnout like at GRR? I'm south of Chicago and plan on going to Chicago and Milwaukee region events, and potentially other groups as well. GRR events are only a little bit further for me than Milwaukee events so I might want to go.

Not big. I want to say 40-50 on a typical day. The sites I've been to aren't real big so they usually do a 2-lap kind of deal. I've been to maybe a half dozen, Iowa Region events are usually easier for me to get to.

I was reading a thread on another forum (RoadRaceAutoX) about Street class cars for 2015, and there was a debate about the competitiveness of the Twins with the RX-8. Like this thread, it appears that some believe our cars are more competitive than others.

I have a couple of questions:

1). What do you all think about the Twins competitiveness in C street this year?

2). Are there reasons why the Twins seemed to be more competitive in RTR than CS against the RX-8? I have been out of the sport for a while, and don’t know whether the rules of RTR, availability of tire sizes, talent, or all of the above might have been a factor in the results.

Since the 370z was moved to BStreet.

I feel like the twins will be more competitive this year, but the rx8 is an equally good performer.

So i'll just say, the twins have one less competitor to worry about in CStreet as the "go to car".

In the end, its all the nut behind the wheel anyway. I know many drivers that would beat me in a suzuki swift around an autoX course.
