I hear that. You can't get pissed now, they gave us the move that was needed.

You should be happy you're not in the same division as Fenter/Harvey.

You should be jumping up and down excited for this change.

It's not an ES car, it's a CS car....the 370Z is a BS car. SCCA got this one right.

Fiesta ST to HS...? This seems a bit odd to me, but I know a few guys on here have the car, maybe they can chime in. It's disapointing that the SCCA is still horrified of the 1st Gen Dodge/Plymouth Neons, and left them in rot in GS still.

This. Cars in "Street" class should be something obtainable. If a car is going to be the "car to have" in a class, it should be something made in the past decade or so that's not a severely limited edition (but not limited enough to hit the exclusion list). That's why the Nismo, MSR Miata, S2000CR, Z0K Solstice, JCW Cooper, etc get buried.

I do question their decision to put the FiST in HS and Mazdaspeed3 in GS. Seems like the FiST in GS and moving the FoST to DS would have been a bit more balanced.

Removing the 370 though would've given me a win in El Toro, a 2nd in Mineral Wells, and a trophy at nats. Maybe I shouldn't complain...except we all knew this would be the outcome from the start and sent a million letters to that effect, and do you know how much in tires and contingency money a first and a second is? Yeah, I'm still pissed.
Should start a FT86 autox club

With the Z being bumped in class, we should see more competitive MX-5s and RX-8s (as you can find some used models at rock bottom prices).

It's no way a spec class, but the move should ensure that more Twin drivers stay in Street and that C-Street will continue to retain healthy numbers.

well

the goal should be not to have an IT car at all

cuz if there is an IT car, and it is affordable/obtainable, then you just end up with a class of that one car ... ES being a perfect example

The "it" car did not win ES at the Nationals nor did it dominate the class this year in anything other than number of entries.

I was talking about the notion of moving it to ES

There's always going to be an "it" car. I don't know any way around it. Every class is going to have some car that people complain about until it eventually gets buried. For BS it was the S2000 CR, for us it was the 370Z, for DS it was the Audi TT, for SSR it's the 997 GT3, and for HS it was the MINI Cooper. Stock classes will always have that issue because you're dealing with basically the factory performance parameters with no chance to improve/correct them. Even in the higher classes they complain about the "boost buggies" in STU, the Civic Si in STC, the WRX in ESP, the BMWs in DSP, etc. There's ALWAYS an "it" car.

We all seem pretty confident that the 370Z was the "it" car in CS... they're affordable and obtainable... but look at the entries for CS Not a single car class at all.

I'm pretty sure Mr. Brown simply miscalculated the weight of the sandbag there...

So when you are off pace by a second to the same car, why should you be pissed you didn't get contingency? You didn't drive well enough that day to earn contingency.

Being pissed an included car got in the way of you lucking into prizes is weak sauce.

I rolled out of the starting lights on a 0.7 faster run Saturday AM. First pro I ran with an uphill start, only my 3rd pro ever, the tires were already worn before the 1000 mile trip. You wanna scoff at my driving in my rookie Nationals campaign? That's weak sauce.

The 370Z specs have more in common with the C4 Corvette that won BS than with any of the other cars in CS. Any minimally conscious car guy could've told you that. But hey, don't let logic or facts get in the way of your keyboard jockeying.
