Check out the DRIVE thread in the sticky section for some stories and video's of the roads we have. Depending on where you're going to be settled, you should be able to find some nice roads easily.

check these guys out. http://www.gripdriftskid.com

they will have skidpad avail on Feb. 8th for $65. Very reasonable if you ask me for a safe environment to drift/mess around.

Going to take some time to browse the NorCal section and see what's up, but already I can tell I'm going to love it out there. Looking forward to meeting some of you this summer!

BTW, I've had my FR-S since June of 2012. Still stock on the drivetrain. Dropped 1" on Eibach springs and XXR 18" wheels. Red Rally Armor Mud Flaps. Several custom DIY mods as well.
Where in the area are you moving (Sac is pretty big)? There are some awesome roads to cut your teeth on, and we are the doorway to Tahoe. If you want twisties, you're headed in the right direction.

Getting stationed at Beale, hoping to find a place in the Olivehurst/Yuba City area. Speaking of which, anybody know the places I should avoid while I'm apartment hunting?

Avoid Linda. I have a spot in Roseville which is so much nicer compared to anywhere else around Beale. The commute to work is between 20-40 min depending on how fast traffic is moving. Are you flightline?

+1 to avoiding Linda. Marysville is still kinda iffy, but if I had to choose something around there, I'd pick Yuba City.

I also live in Roseville and despite the 40 minute drive to work, I feel the quality of life in the area justifies it. It really depends on your needs and wants. If you have a family, the Rocklin area has good schools for kids so that's something to consider. Lincoln, Rocklin, and Roseville seem to be where a good amount of Beale people are if they dont pick Marysville or Yuba City. I got to Beale back in September and wanted to find something in Yuba City because it was close, but after I spent half my house hunting days around the area, I came to realize I rather live in a smaller unit but in a nicer area.

I'm leaning towards the Rocklin/Roseville/Lincoln area at this point. Got a friend at Travis and I like the idea of being closer to Sacramento as well. How is the car scene in the area? Any good tuner shops? Or is that all down in Southern California?

I'd say a lot of the bigger name shops would be in SoCal, but I'm relatively new to the area so I can't say much on what's around. Bay area isn't too far from here either and I'm sure they have a much bigger scene around that area than anything in Sac.

So just throwing out a random question. Is anyone interested in meeting up this weekend? It would be nice to meet some fellow frs/brz owners on here. If anyone is interested we can set up a time and place.

Sure. I've got nothing going on this weekend but there's a drive in the works for Saturday in the bay area in the DRIVE thread I was thinking about going on though. If you're not busy, that would be a good opportunity to meet more of us as well.

The drive sounds fun to do, but I would like to stay local sorry. If you do go drive safe and have fun! There is always as well sunday so no worries just let me know what you decide. Hopefully some other members would be down to meet up this weekend to.
