One thing that helped a bit for me was installing some damplifier pro under the insulation piece on the hood.

I wonder if this material will reduce drone or aftermarket exhaust sound at a certain amount. Anyone?

I agree with John. I installed CCF+MLV in my trunk wheel well and sides of trunk. My aftermarket is almost as quiet as stock (still sounds a lot better though).

Finished everything but the front floor area.
MLV everywhere but doors, roof, and front floor area. CLD covering probably 80% of the car at this point, not on the roof or front floor. Thinsulate stuffed in every possible crevice in the quarter panels, under back seats/floor, and a few layers in the doors. Doors really shut with a solid thunk now, even better than with just CLD. My phone said the car was around 88dB before I ever got started if I recall properly, now it's saying 74-75dB. On dry pavement at 65mph. Rough roads go up to 77-78. My wife's 2013 Mustang is 79-80dB on smooth roads and it's a pretty darn quite car. I must say, other than one stupid rattle I can't locate, I am finally pleased with the interior volume now!

Surprised no one has done the roof yet. I had an acorn bounce off my roof and I thought someone had bounced a billiard ball off it. There is nothing on the underside of the roof.

Unless it's raining/hailing/sky falling, you don't get anything more than some minor wind noise from it. I can't hear any discernible sound from above me unless I'm in a tunnel.

I covered my roof with Raammat. Makes rain sound like someone is slapping my roof lightly with their fingers.
