Bringing this back from the dead. I'm going full blown turbo kit gtx2867r. I too was wondering about the gtx3076r seems like it makes 500whp easy but how much lag? I see this as possibly getting more traction due to the gtx28 spooling real fast but I have a goal of 450ish whp on e85 and to crack a 10 second pass. Not sure if it can be done but the gt2871r has done 127 in the 1/4 that's a 10 second time area I'm sure the gtx should have more room.

You better be getting axles and slicks if you wanna run a 10.

I saw you broke one on your last outing lol yea the plan would be to eventually do the irs 8.8 rear with dss axles and driveshaft but wasn't going to until I broke them. Didn't the 10 second frs from Puerto Rico run a 10.8 on stock drivetrain? That was on slicks too

Yeah they were on stock axles as well with slicks which take up a lot of the shock from launching, drag radials break shit lol.

I know it sucks :/ have you ever tested the gtx turbo vs the 5858? I'm curious I just want to have a quick spooling and nice top end turbo. I do a lot of runs on the street to be honest I know some don't like that but that's me I'm more of a roll guy..so I guess I could care less if I ever tracked it in the 1/4 I wouldn't be breaking anything from launches just want to hook at 40-50mph onward.

The 5858 is a nice turbo but there is some lag. A gtx30 will spool sooner but it won't make the same power so I would say it's a nice compromise for you.

I've been looking at what size turbo I want for daily driving \ spirited drives and around a 400 whp top mark.

Trying to understand the turbos, but to my understanding a GTX3076r seems overkill for that goal. I'm probably sitting in the GTX2867r or GTX3071r range. Assuming the GTX3071r has a bit more room to grow. I need to do a lot more research.

E85 or pump gas? E85 I'd go with the gtx28, pump I'd do the gtx30.

Pump most likely, but I like the entertain the idea of Flex Fuel since I'll have the upgraded injectors / fuel pump already.

Nothing too crazy... just enough to keep up with the beefy 400 hp cars coming from the factory on the road. Have a mild DD map, semi-aggressive, then real aggressive map 3.

I've got 93 octane around here thankfully so the pump gas is good.

Lol you'll never use the lower power maps trust me. I'd do the 28 then just for the quicker spool and they'll do 450 wheel on e85.

Yeah, I'm thinking I want the boost to kick in a little sooner rather than later, right in the mid range. I really need to look at a plot of the GTX3071r vs GTX2867r in which the FBM Premium kit comes with. I'm pretty positive the GTX2867r would meet my needs.

Cruising at 75 mph in boost isn't very ideal on the highway either, lol. That's about what, 3200 rpm?
