What should lead me to have faith? You are asking strangers on a message forum what turbo you should use? You let a Scion dealership install your turbo kit and did not install any gauges. You have gone from buying a reasonable kit with a GT28 to wanting a GT35 to "kill these mustangs". You need to set some goals as to what you want out of your car and then decide what turbo is best to reach that. If all you want to do is street race some Mustangs out on an airfield, then by all means get the GT35 and make as much horsepower as our narrow tires can't handle.

I never once said anything about street racing. I want to take it to the track here in town. Just for the record Toyota was 100% capable and did nothing wrong on the install yes it was fail on my part for not installing the aem failsafe right then and there. I have goals but the gtx2867 is going to get maxed out really quick and i would like to get something that i can use and still have some head room later down the room after i do some more upgrades. and whats wrong with asking for everyones feedback or opinion on a turbo?

For the record then, what caused your motor to put a rod through the block? If installed properly with the proper basemap there is no way it should have blown up. What I am telling you is, now is the time to decide what your goals are. What power level do you want? What ET do you want to run?

Yea, AP's turbo is running 11's with ~425-450whp I believe.

I personally think much past 400whp is going to be too much for this car. But I've never driven a 500whp fr-s, I'm sure it flies lol..

Hasn't anyone ever told you? Bigger is better.

We do offer the Garrett turbos, as we are an authorized dealer, made any way you like it! We also have Garrett intercoolers and cores, for any custom build..

let me know if you need any help

The GT35r is perfectly efficient at just 10psi. I've run 6262 turbos with .82ar housings on previous 2.0L. They run perfectly well on low boost with high revving engines. Granted, the factory 7400rpm rev limit will not make the turbo very happy. With a good 8300-8500rpm rev limit and these turbos the car will be a riot.

But I still think the GTx28 should be retained. This turbo is responsive and capable. With the built engine and more boost it will be a blast to drive.

But my favorite cars to build are the high revving 9000rpm monsters on low boost larger turbos. The boost comes on progressively and smooth, and the powerband makes it feel like a jet take-off. But everyone has their own preference. Before dumping more money into the setup, I would at least get to a solid 350whp daily and go from there.

If it was a stock engine a gtx28 would be reasonable, but with a built head, and lower CR you need a gtx35

I think there's a member by the name of typeRspec who made 465 hp and 370 tq on the turbo you currently have so maybe there's a chance. Good luck

That maxed out on e85. I believe he wants more room to grow, a size up from the 28 may be perfect.
