But you need to consider the boost efficiency ranges. Like on a 35r it Really doesn't provide huge power untill after 20 psi. People run up to 30psi on that turbo I was running 25psi on my 30 I know you have a built motor but is it capable of handling that much boost. And then there's added temperature of the the ,35 in the engine bay as well as your intercooler. And after about 15 psi regular screw type c clamps can't hold that pressure with that much cfm. T bolt clamps will be needed. And then there's the whole deal about hooking up 600whp. In a car that weighs as much as a miata. It would break loose at high speeds in a straight line

So lowered compression and bigger turbo?
What are you trying to achieve?

You really need to look at spool characteristics and decide where you want the power.

With your built longblock and a good wmi kit a 35 will be the perfect combo.

i'd prefer the 2867r for the sake of response, but then i've never driven them back to back so i can't say that i know there is much difference in that area. since you have a built motor, i think the 3076r would be better as it would allow you to take advantage of the build and make big power.
these things aren't quite as cut and dry as they were before the gtx's came out, though. the little 2867 moves a whole bunch of air, especially for a 2750lb car. |

The compressor on thd gtx3076 is too big for that turbine wheel. Go gtx3071 or gtx3576.

3071 is a great turbo. Capable, but with decent spool. The compressor and turbine are well matched.

someone had to say it. the 3076r has pretty extreme wheel choices. turbine is too small imho. go .82ar and you will make decent power with good response. the gt3582r is too big for most any track with turns. you will have a hard time getting traction. but it will be fun as hell. you need to draw a line of where you want to make power, and how you want to enjoy the car. you dont need even 400whp to smash most mustangs, even modified ones. move up to the next larger size only after you've tapped the potential of your current setup. otherwise, you could end up over your head.

As much money as your dumping into this rebuild i would hate to see you end up with something un-driveable.. I say start with a 3071. Your break in tune is not going to push the limits in the least. put the break in miles on it, get the full tune on pump and e85... I'm willing to bet it will be fast enough to scare the fack out of you. Then again , i don't know your car history so....
