Deslock, don't think I'm good enough for you guys to learn from but I'll try to post the replay. First time doing this so not sure if I'm doing it right. Let me know if this is working.

And about Laguna Seca, it may be an unlockable track but I forget how to earn it. Google search? I've been doing all these in practice mode.
i honestly dont know where im going on this track... how do i get laguna seca?

I don't believe you need to unlock Laguna Seca. Go to Practice-->World Circuits and you should see it.

Damn I was really trying to beat my old time but looks like I'm gonna have to put it up. I'm failing at resizing on imgur (even cleared my cache like it says) so the first link is my setup and second is the time slip.

Judging by the size, it's a replay of the whole session. Next time save only best lap replay.

switchlanez already replied, but GT5's Top Gear track can be unforgiving when it comes to marking your lap as invalid. Be careful not to cut corners too tight.

You could try running with the driving line a couple times just to learn the track layout, and then turn it off before doing your competition runs. Don't leave it on too long as it'll become a crutch for braking points, which you'll need to relearn once you turn it off.

Thanks, I'll trying loading it on the PS3 next time I play (I've been in bed sick... too fatigued to even play GT5).

BTW, you're being modest. Even if I put together a single lap of my best corners, it'd be slower than 1:22.891.

It's working. I had to go and beat that time now

Sadly, using paddles is faster.

Latest times. Probably gonna do some more laps @LS during the week, feeling like there's half a second there at least.

Thanks for sharing your Top Gear replay, ft86Fan. Hard to mimic on a DualShock but it inspired me to drive smoother. My Laguna Seca time improved after watching that! + I can still improve on some corners.

I'm not home right now but I can upload replay upon request.

Question: Do any of you guys with steering wheels have a proper seating/mount setup and what do you think of it?

What a cool idea!

I took a stab at a few laps on each track, I know I can cut a good second off the Top Gear track, and there is at least half a second on Laguna Seca. My Wheel is the original old school Driving force, (blue and black) that came out before GT3 was released in 2001... Best $50 I ever spent :P

Did some more laps around laguna.

There's probably more time, since I missed the apex big time for the key turn before the uphill.

Both replays of my laps are attached.

@switchlanez, definitely get a wheel and seat. Its worth it. You can get a Logitech G27 for $217 with free shipping. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001NT9TK4/

^Thanks, I'm seriously considering it. What kind of seating/mount setup do you have? Any quirks about it/any recommendations/things to avoid when I shop?

I found this: http://www.amazon.com/Playseat-Limit...uct/B004N0HHV8

But I won't get it if there are options that offer all the same functions for less like this: http://www.amazon.com/Playseat-Evolu...ef=pd_sim_sg_4

Is this http://www.amazon.com/Playseat-Gears...d_rhf_dp_shvl1 worth getting and are there other accessories I should consider?

The pic looks to be playseat Evo. I had it, hated it. Metal bar right in the middle was annoying the hell out of me.

For the money those linked seats will set you back I'd rather get rSeat GTR V2 or Obutto Ozone

^Thanks for the tip. I think I would get the rSeat GTR V2 since I don't think I can fit my 40" TV on the Obutto making some parts useless and I'd want to use everything I'm paying for. Do you have personal experience on either of those 2?

Looks like both have a gearshift mount. Wish I could test how each feel with a G27. Anyone know?
