I think if you look at the combo engine and transmission the weight would approach mid "engine".

Toyota GT86 (53/47) with front passengers?

Mazda MX-5 (52/48)

Neither of these cars are true mid-front engined, though their engine is still towards the center of the car like BMWs. We can see the Mazda's engine is still slightly pushed even further back. The main difference is the front passengers sit closer to the rear axle. To have the right balance the car should have a transaxle gearbox like the LFA for instance, what would make the car more expensive and we don't want it. The Honda S2000 however, had a true front-mid engine layout, and managed to have a weight distribution of 49/51 (F/R) despite not having a transaxle gearbox. The mecanisme of the folding top contributed to that also.
At the end, removing the battery will not change anything unless being a total summ of other modifications like CF hood,...ect.

Weight distribution is not a problem in this car. A more important point is suspension setup what seems to be done right.

In this picture the Miata engine is behind the front axle and the FR-S is not.

What is the name of this battery? I might want one when I get mines but I hope it's reliable. That should knock of some nice weight. What is the typical weight of a stock battery the size of the FR-S?

Not sure what is stock battery weight, but I think about it's 20-25lb.

For $300 I'll buy front AND rear swaybars.

Gosh i love new members.

To find out what the rc model is all about might want to do some searchs and look mainly at jdm release info.

Just a hint if your planning on modding the car extensivly with body kit exhaust wheels intiroe parts the rc spec is for you but only if you are mainly on the track.
