I've been so frickin' busy with life that I haven't dug far enough into the owner's manual to discover a 'shift indicator' is even an option...many thanks!!!!!!!!

You probably want it before redline so you don't hit your rev limiter if you aren't watching RPMs.

I didn't really get a sweet ride bro thing happen yet, but I went for a test drive today in the blue series white BRZ, on the way back though I had another white BRZ flash at me and wave. This was pretty cool as I don't get that in my Prius, haha. This happened in Reno.
I'm definitely looking forward for a purchase of BRZ by the time it's my birthday.

Stopped at the local coffee shop this morning and a younger guy with his son pulled up next to me in a jeep. He gets out says nice car and asked how I like it. He then says he just got rid of his WRX and was looking into the BRZ.

About 30 mins later we stop at the super market and I see a Tiburon pull up and the owner and his gf get out. Gf starts walking to the store and the guy is standing looking at my car from a distance, he then says something to her but she paid no attention and kept walking, he then caught up with her.

I guess the most interesting was that only until after I took the car out for a track day, I started noticing people doing double takes on my car. Before didn't really notice. Even guys in full out track cars was doing walk arounds while I was at the pits waiting for the next run group.

Few days after, while at the gas station, some lady pulled up in a SL500, and was probably on something... wacko said "Sick F***** car, what kind of car is it? Did you soop it up?"

Honestly, I prefer no attention, then attention from random people on drugs... Don't mind people in other cars admiring though.

Not everyone but at least four people have said "I'm buying one" to me in the six months I've owned the car. I've never owned a car that elicits this reaction.

I typically get approached about my car at gas stations however I have had a few in-traffic encounters which for the most part are smiles, waves, and props from men and women alike. My most memorable however thus far has to be when I picked up my sister from work one night and all her friends and coworkers circled around my car and collectively asked me about it as I live in a pretty suburban middle to upper aged area where such vehicles are rare. I can only imagine how things may escalate once I begin adding more obvious mods.

I was driving, on my way to work, when I noticed a white BRZ about 5 cars behind me. When they were able to get right next to me, I looked and saw that it was a girl behind the wheel of a new BRZ with the paper tags still. Gave her the thumbs up, she nodded in approval and sped off as my exit approached. Definitely awesome to see another enthusiast on the streets.
