Wow, I am sorry to hear you guys had bad experiences. I've been friends with James for a while and that definitely does not sound like him. For what it's worth, he's always been very kind and helpful with anyone I've sent over.

To change the the subject, how are you all liking the PP Brembos? Better pedal feel?

Anyone else into tracking? I plan on going to Putnam for a 10/10ths event. Maybe we can get a group going.

I don't have much to compare it too other than 16 year old Prelude pedal feel or mid size sedan pedal feel. They seem stiff and responsive.

Is a 10/10ths event similar to HPDE? It appears that the novice level (where I would be at) is pretty much the same thing. I'm really only concerned about warranty and insurance issues. Not that I expect something to fail or damage to happen but that it will not have coverage in the event that it does. I have read much about "the black box" and even the manufacturer looking up our cars/drivers at "race events".

Stuff like this is why most likely my car will just be a to and from car...

Here ya go.

Yeah, warranty is definitely a concern. I doubt you'd be going that hard to damage the car, at say, Putnam, but you never know.

Even before you posted that link I was googling to see what I could find. Yeah it looks pretty much the same as the HPDE stuff I was looking into before. I'm very interested in doing this stuff but hesitate to commit before my warranty period is up. Knowing that this car is quite race ready with no modifications is a really cool concept to me but even more so is the want to learn to be a better driver.

I don't blame you one bit. You can always try Autocross, if you want. KYSCCA has a lot of events. A lot lower speeds, more technical. Great fun.

If you guys and some of the Tennessee guys wanted to do a meet, I could host one a bit later in the summer at my shop. Grill some burgers and dogs, and could incorporate a dyno day into it as well if some people wanted to get on the rollers.

Sounds fun to me! Where is your shop located if you don't mind me asking?

Hey Kenny- I'm not even sure the guy I had a brief conversation with was your friend, I still go to Bachman to buy oil filters, their parts guy is nice . And it sounds like Wondark has moved on to just enjoying his car, so it's cool.

But on to fun stuff- I've been doing track days for a long time now on a variety of tracks in several cars. I probably have over 60 days at Putnam and can enthusiastically recommend it. The surface has just been repaved and friends who have already been on it this year (they have a member's club so those guys get on track without needing to attend a sponsored event) say it has really good grip and is easy on tires now. Putnam is also a very safe track with grassy run-off areas and has a reputation as a great track for novices to learn on. !0/10ths is a solid group and have a number of good instructors, many are guys I know.

I think warranty issues on an unmodified car are unlikely, if the box records high rev events and top speeds (which I don't know that it does, but it seems likely) who's to say where those events happened? If I feel crazy I can hit 115mph on any interstate as many times as I want in a day. MY17s have an oil temp gauge, so we already have a way to monitor the major shortcoming of our cars on track, which is oil overheating. I'm going to Putnam with a buddy who's a club member at the end of this month if the weather's decent, so I'll report back on what temps I'm seeing in cool weather. As for our brakes, I think the pedal feel is better than in my STI, probably because they're the same Brembos on both cars and the BRZ is 500lbs lighter. The stock pads are horrible dust makers, but my god they whoa the car down!

Also, that offer to go to Nancy, Ky sounds good. I'd do that

It's all good. Adam in parts is a great guy!
I actually went up to the Member day, with my buddy. The new surface is fantastic. Hoping to go back here soon. As you said, great track.

Nothing major. Bilsteins, pads, tires, and bolt ons. In the process of switching to ECUTEK from OFT. Definitely need a bit more seat time.

Not enough if your far away. its on 11521 Bluegrass Parkway, Jeffersontown, KY 40299, every friday and saturday night at 10:00PM - whenever it ends. Funny because for the first time an actually good car showed up (458) tonight and i unfortunately wasnt there but i know alot of subaru guys that go down. Usually involves minor shit talk and racing later. but its just a cool atmosphere (sometimes) (barely any actually)
