Anyone have experience running the stock all-season Bridgestone Turanzas in the snow? I will get snow tires if I must, but I don't live in that snowy of an area (40 inches/year).

I would recommend winter tires, I nearly got stuck in an inch of snow on the stock Bridgestones. 3 inches had me spinning tires for around 20 minutes before someone pushed me out. Sure they're hilariously fun if you aren't on a time schedule and don't mind being stuck, but otherwise they are completely useless in snow.

I had my bridgestones Siped ? because they could use a little help and I had no plans of running them long term. It helped along with weight in the trunk but I will be changing over to Hakka's this winter if i can afford it .

doesnt look that bad

The type of car you have doesn't determine if you need extra wheels or not, that is personal preference. The tires should be changed to a winter dedicated tire though if that is what you are asking. I keep a pure summer set on my volks, and winter tires on my stock wheels.

Hankook Winter iCep Evo - Full review.

I compared these to a good all season, but wasn't very impressed with their performance in the snow.

Next year I'll be going to a dedicated snow. I have the altimax arctic on my wifes car (fwd) and they work amazingly. I've used most snow tires and like most of the top brands offering. As noted thinner is better, 16's are cheaper, etc.

If you look around, you should be able to find some 16" or 17" stock alloy wheels from another Subaru model used for the same or cheaper than steelies, which should be lighter and look nicer.

In prep for this winter I've got 02-05 WRX wheels with 205/55R16 tires, which are like half a percent larger diameter than the BRZ stock wheels, and they're about 4 pounds lighter per wheel.

I have a set of 16's off of a 98 Legacy GT. I have the Firestone Winterforces and they were pretty good the time I took them out in the snow last year.

I actually like that for winter time as well.

Am I the only one who has had thoughts about painting random things on steelies? Like a spiral, or filling half of it in, or a smiley face??? It'd look trippy when the wheel is spinning.
