The answer is demographics. The low price of the car for its perceived value is skewed toward the 'younger' population. By 'younger' I mean those that have not yet achieved a direction and a particular responsibly in life, not self-assured, and are striving to be 'different'/unique and are starving for attention. Also, by younger I do not mean strictly defined by age. Like bell-bottomed pants and striped jeans in the 70's we now have pants that must be held up to prevent the brown spots in the boxer shorts from showing.

In essence, age isn't a guarantee of maturity or innovation; I'm now 27 and am continuously thunderstruck by decisions I see people, not much younger / older than myself, making.

The biggest disappointment is that the enthusiast base has become so watered down and there's virtually no level of mutual respect amongst fellow enthusiasts.

There's nothing elitist about expecting others to value and respect their cars and community.

I simply don't see how taking an affordable car and doing all you can to make it look cheap does anything positive for your car, yourself and or car community.

If many here think it's the "different strokes..." BS mentality, go ahead, but don't come bitching when you start being profiled against, much like the Honda community.

Lol this guy. Im not gonna bother with you. Please show me cheap parts on my brz...only cheqp thing on my sti were the coils, which served their purpose and I dont regret not going with anyrhing else.
