Actually, e85 contains ~10% more energy per unit of air combusted. So even without any detonation prevention benefits, there actually is additional power from e85.

Though e85 has less energy per unit than gasoline, this is more than made up for by the increased e85 volume required to reach stoichiometric burn.

Stoic AFR for e85 ~ 9.75:1
Gasoline = 14.7:1

I know that there's more to it, and I cannot guarantee that all of that increased fuel energy will be converted to the flywheel, but I'm fairly certain there's still a net gain there. Or at least, that's what I think.

FYI I FORGOT TO MENTION THIS CAR IS STILL ON BONE STOCK EXHAUST. SO I CAN STILL REDUCE SPOOL TIME......
Odd way of doing things, stock tire?

in all actuality its the best way to show the true potential of the kit to test it on a bone stock car before adding any other mods. this car was tuned bone stock and made 175hp 2 weeks before installing the kit. we installed a agency front pipe and left the stock exhaust then tuned it. next will be the retune with an exhaust and later on maybe e85. the way i look at it the power we made with the car being held back by an exhaust was great. once i get an exhaust on here spool will drop top end will grow even more. this is simply the beginning. i we choose to test the larger turbo first so we would know where we stood with the smaller trims.

as far as technology the garrett gtx is still using the same turbine wheels from 10 years ago just an upgraded compressor wheel. the main benefit of decreased spool was from weight savings not a redesigned turbine wheel. i originally had a gts 2867 on the original kit but it was driving the base price of our kit up too high. our goal from the first kit was to develop and release a sub 4k kit which have managed to do so. anyone who wants different options is more than welcome to choose a different turbo. just like you would prefer a gt30 some would prefer the gt28. i wanted to show what the std garrett turbo is capable of at the price point we wanted. anything else could be considered an upgrade on an individual basis. which you can play with on the order page of our site to see what different turbos would cost you in real time.....

I rather this way to show progression and like FA20club said the true potential of this car. step by step. The turbo application i have set up and tuned is perfect for my characteristics of driving.

I was going more along the lines of pulling the timing down low for traction reasons when the power levels are still relatively low and you're never gonna be no where near peak power that low anyways... Along with peak torque being less then 50 ftlb's from what you see at 4k to peak

since you havent driven the car an experience the wheel spin ill leave your comment as simple jecturing. the car i tune that made 153tq with our header made 200hp and spins tires insanely down low. you can cruise in 3rd and punch it and it breaks lose so what do you think happens with this turbo setup.

i understand where your comments some from but its one of those things you cant knock till you try it. ive tuned the avo kit a full blown kit and my own kit. ive seen logs and results from them all so i probably have more viable data to work from than you do looking from the outside in. your comments are welcomes non the less but you have to also welcome my responses from the basis of my actual experience with not only my kit but others on the market as well.

I read something wrong and asked a stupid question in pursuit of knowledge, but I figured it out so all is good.

That'd be my car . And it's the ONLY reason I'm not buying the FA20 Turbo right now.. The N/A E85+Header combo is more than enough for me at this time, especially as a DD and a weekly outta-town-trip car.. I drive 600+ miles a week, and I LOVE the higher highway MPG (on 93 octane) that I'm getting after your header tune!! 33-34 MPG easily, and I can get little bit more if I don't drive as hard. And yes, I DO enjoy punching it in 2nd & 3rd .

If I ever go FI though, your turbo would be my first choice Tony! Looks awesome!
