I would hope they would have specified e85 if that was the fuel used, with e85 i would expect 10+ psi also.

E85 is not needed at 5 psi. E85 does not make more HP. The advantage E85 provides is the ability to prevent detonation at higher PSI, thus allowing 20+ psi to be run on stock motor.

run a smaller turbo like the 57 or the 50 trim for more tq. larger turbos will have a wide variance between hp & tq. this is a great combo in my mind cause i can make good top end power and not torch my stock clutch with too much tq and tire spin. what you have to remember is tq is what creates engine limits no HP

this was pump gas. no point in running e85 for this power/boost level

I understand this, But as im working in a country that serves 91 on its best day, 5.3 psi does not answer the volume the engine is receiving.

5lbs on my T28 is not quite the same as 5lbs on my GT35.

I've never worked with an engine at 12.5 compression before, its all touch and go for me. Especially considering the urine we have for fuel on tap.

you notice a decrease in spool time on e85 when tuned properly and an increase in tq because of it. which usually translates to an increase in power. the fuel isnt the difference its what it allows you to do on any level because of the increased margin of error before detonation.

Thanks for the further explanation. I still think at 5 psi there would not be much difference, the benefits would clearly show at higher psi correct?

if your fuel quality is that poor one of the smaller trim turbos will work best along with ethanol if its readily available but i still dont think its absolutely necessary to run ethanol right off the get go with a proper tune.

honestly i think its depends on the power its making at that level. i would normally not think to try it but with what this thing made at that level i might take a shot at it LOL. but you are correct that at higher levels the gains would be much more visible
