I hate the fact that one need to cut holes in order to access the SD card or need to cut a hole to plug in their microphone (if the case is already open anyway, there's no reason to block any accessory ports - but I guess this happens when a company invests orders of magnitudes more in marketing than in engineering).

Today, I would simply buy a Sony Action Cam.
All of these reasons is why I got the JVC Adixxion. I figure two of them for the same price as a GoPro, so if they work any better or the same, I'm still ahead of the game. I should have them for a race in mid-May and will post video then.

This.

The new Sony for $299 is really nice. 60fps at 1080p and 120fps @ 720 and the built in image stabilization is 2nd to none.

I'd get the Sony if I didn't have the GoPro 2 —it does the job, but would love if it performed better in low light and audio wasn't terrible.

I used Monoprice's Action Camera - sample here:

[ame]http://youtu.be/y0uZJpGeEtg[/ame]

Camera deets here:

http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_i...seq=1&format=2

PROS:
Dirt cheap - don't care if it falls off.
Decent quality if you are viewing strictly on a phone or computer monitor.

CONS:
No wifi remote option so if you forget to turn it on and it is out of your reach - tough luck!
Video quality starts to drop once you throw it on a big TV at 1080p (it records only up to 720p)
Sound is meh

I like that it's very compact (about the size of a cigar, a little shorter perhaps) and has a tough anodized aluminum case and is water resistant. You can go through the mud with it and rain and it doesn't care. It's been pretty reliable for me and the battery lasts longer than my friends' GoPro Hero 3. You can also take still pics with it and plug in an external mic. It uses Micro SD memory cards. My video here is using a Hero 3 on the outside of the car door, and in-car footage is with my ReplayXD.

Just a side note but very good driving

What mods where on the car at the time?

I use the Arkon Head Rest mount as a base for a Ram Mount Cradle and CMS Lap Time.

GoPro Hero 3 ahead, and GoPro 2 aft/side. I got a killer deal on the 3 but honestly I would still be very happy with the 2 or even a 1.

It was 41 degrees and damp for our event and the Z2's just wouldn't hook up. This is the first time the car has ever had this level of understeer. I was running 30lbs front and 25lbs rear just to have any level of grip. The little drifty at the end was a feeble attempt to get some warmth in the rear.

Anyone interested in a Sony HDR-AS15? I got one brand new, opened box, never used.

Sony AS100V here. I'm quite happy with it. The stabilization make videos pleasant to view.

Thank you! I believe the mods are listed in the info of the video, but if not then I had Buddy Club coilovers, Project Mu HC+800 pads, Motul RBF600 brake fluid, Cusco rear lateral arms, TRD drop-in filter, DIY oil cooler kit, 17x9+35 Enkei RPF1 with Hankook RS3 245/40 tires.

I've taken a few videos with the Arkon mount but man, they come out incredibly shaky for me.
