Hi,

My car is due for a service, and was about to book it into Melrose Arch, until I checked out this thread and saw the reviews for Melrose. Any other dealership suggestions for a service close to Melrose ? Any experiences with Bruma or Bedfordview ? Also, my car has the BRZ xhorst, so need a service centre that wont cancel my warranty as soon as they see that.

I've used the Bedfordview dealership for the last 2 years. I didn't have any specific problems for them to fix (just a general service) and I don't have any major complaints.

+ They remembered not to wash my car as per my request.
- Be prepared for spam calls when your car goes in for any additional services they can sell you (car glaze, windscreen chip repair and so on). But this seems to be a standard practice for most dealers.

I've had 3 toyota dealer experiences thus far:

Midrand:
Been experiencing a "ringing" noise that's related to throttle. I took the car in to Midrand to have that checked out, and the mechanic straight out tells me that its not worth the time to look for "one loose bolt" because it would take too much time.

Now as a warranty holder, that doesn't make me feel great, because at the end of the day i opted for a warranty and if there's a problem logged, i'd expect it to at least be looked at. However long it takes the dealer to attempt to find the problem is not supposed to be my problem.

Rivonia:
On the other end of the spectrum, Rivonia Toyota has willingly agreed to have a thorough look at the car to see whats wrong. I would highly recommend Rivonia Toyota - Great service, where nothing is left to chance (And rightfully so as a warranty holder!)

Fourways:
Quite a comical experience to look back at. When i was shopping around for my 86, i had a very good idea on what i was willing to pay and what was expected. So this salesman see's me rock up with my then polo vivo, asks me how old I am and what i am willing to pay, and intelligently deduces that i would much rather find a etios more appealing. A week later i picked up my 86 from McCarthy VW Westgate, and i made it a point of taking the car through to my new "highly intellectual" sales friend at Fourways Halfway Toyota.

I've only used Melrose once and left with a dent on my 3 day old car's door so they won't be seeing me again.

Thanks for all the response.

Will see how far the recommended dealerships are to me, and decide.

Cool, some are open on Saturdays - good idea, especially if you've got an aftermarket exhaust fitted.

I've used Woodmead.
Service and workmanship was good.

Halfway Honeydew Toyota has been pretty top notch so far. Servicing and fault finding has been beyond expected. Can highly recommend them.

Did the 15k service at woodmead - being close to work. Not much issues , service was smooth. Fixed some squeaks - though my dash squeak came back.
