I'm starting to see and read about all these new cars coming out that have really good automatic transmissions. and I must admit, manual shifting occasionally annoys me in stop and go traffic. I won't be tracking or drag-racing either. I have heard nothing but praise about the paddle shifting. I think that I will test drive before I buy this car. If I blindly order a manual, I MAY REGRET IT. cant believe I just typed that. I owe it to myself to at least TRY that automatic first.

I will be getting a manual for sure. I don't like autos.
I will be driving mine fairly hard, so the traffic annoyance is a compromise I am happy to make

If you drive in mostly traffic, why would you want to buy a sports car? If I was commuting in rush hour traffic, I'd buy a first-gen Honda Insight, and keep the sports car for the weekends.

Just think how buff your left leg will get from all that in-traffic clutching

They call it MANual for a reason!

I hear this arguement a lot. I've had a manual sports car for 6 years and fairly often drive in traffic but never once did I think, "I wish I had an automatic." Now there were times I wish I had a dual clutch transmission so I could accelerate/shift quicker. But for a car like this, where the purpose is fun, you have to go manual. Although, the automatic downshift blipping does seem pretty sweet.

Manual for pure driving experience.

This car is made to be enjoyed and joy only comes from manuals. It's all about real driving. If I was in your position though, I would have probably opted in for the auto as well. I just posted a thread with the official mpg, it gets 3 more in the city and 4 more in the highway. It will help you a lot.

In terms of fun, the manual, I suspect, will have extremely sporty gear ratios which won't let that smile get off your face.
