ANYWAY, what would everyone suggest I do with the frame? Are there REALLY only 86 of them? I have no idea how they determined who got what number, but if there is a specific number for each person, I'll gladly send them that frame. Everyone else already get their frame?
Based on the numbers posted here, they didn't seem to be issued in a wave coming from the west coast to the east, nor were they issued in order of car delivery.

Based on my and another First 86-er's last names, I have a suspicion they're numbered in reverse-alphabetical order by last name. He and I share the same first letter; his second letter comes before mine; his number is just higher mine. He's out west, I'm over on the east. His car was delivered a week before mine.

That's the info I'm working with. If I imagined myself packaging them to mail out, it makes sense to me that you work through the stack of frames and a printed list of names and addresses. As you number the stickers, you pile the higher numbers on top of the lower; as you stuff the packages, you work from A-Z and grab frames from the top of the stack. Because the individual dealer could affect delivery date (by transportation distance or other dealer-specific plans post-arrival), it would likely be wasted effort to coordinate the plate number by order of delivery.

Here's a suggestion for what to do with the frame. Mine is now hanging in my office at work and will go with the Limited Edition print once I get it framed.

Hum. my name starts with a M and I got #82 (and #80). I would think I'd be close to the middle if that was the case. I was thinking that it was based on how quickly you replied back once you were notified of being one of the First 86. Reason I say that is because, in my case, I didn't answer the phone until the Monday after that Thursday contest. I thought it was a solicitor!!! Once I listened to my messages, I found out they were trying to reach me all that weekend. Thus, I got a higher number! Again; my opinion.

That is an excellent idea. I just didn't want to keep a frame if someone else didn't get one.

Speaking of frames, I dropped off my special addition print to be professionally framed just yesterday. If it looks anything like the computer generated picture that Michael's now uses, it's going to be awesome! Brushed steal frame and double matted with black and charcoal borders. I was really impressed with that print. To me, it's probably the coolest thing they sent us!

Alright, well there goes that theory.

...So maybe there was this giant hat, right? And they dropped all the frames into it and...

Well, although everything Scion did for us was over the top, they might have dropped the ball on the whole numbering thing. I think they should have run with the idea of giving us an emblem of some sort saying "1st 86", or "1 of 86". But, I still can't complain.

Soooo, anyone still interested in a meet at Formula Drift in Las Vegas Aug 24/25? Havent heard must about this idea since we left Long Beach -- but I bet we could get Scion Corp/Beyond Marketing on board. If we are still doing the meet, I will be driving my FRS to Vegas. However, if not then Ill just be driving the Ford Focus. Either way Ill be in Vegas from the 24th until the 27th, so I might as well go check out Formula Drift.

Although I LOVE Las Vegas and think it would be really cool, I don't think I'd make that 1500 mile drive!
