Just ordered a set from CSG Mike for my first track day. Along with some better brake fluid. This saturday is going to be epic. Just wish I could afford a new set of tires to go with the new brake setup prior to Willow Springs.

I have them front and rear with stock rotors and Motul RBF (600) fluid.

I have had 4 track days, 3 drift events, x10 mountain pass drives, and over 15,000 miles on mine. They do great and i have never had fade yet.

After 2 events I started noticing a squeal on the street when the pad was starting to warm up. They are pretty hard on the brake rotors. I am pretty sure I am going to have to change out rotors before pads. I also started having a problem with my front inside brake caliper or brake pad not releasing from the rotor and or getting wedged somehow. (not sure if it's pad related yet)

Owwwww...... I still have 3/4 pad life left as well.

These pads are ok for beginner and intermediate level drivers. They are able to stand up to heat fairly well for a hybrid street/track pad although they do exhibit fade half way thru a 20 min session. Never completely go away tho. I will say these are better than many of the hybrid street/track pads I used to use while learning to track since they don't seem to score/groove rotors like many of the others do.

Unfortunately, I'm less than satisfied with their street ability. Half way thru the pad life they started to squeal (not as bad as aggressive race pads) and they dust like a mofo.

Overall, I probably won't be buying another set of these. Intermediate drivers will find them good on track, advanced level drivers will find them adequate at best, and their street manners could definitely be better.

True story and I'm glad this was posted. Hybrid pads work and do its job as intended with all the trademark Project Mu qualities, but the pad was designed with trade-offs on many things to get the level of street performance and track performance for those who don't want to commit to a full track pad. In terms of squeal...bed those babies in.

Admittedly, I could have done more for the squeal. I didn't shim or grease them since I initally put them in just to test em at the track and wasn't sure I'd keep em long term. Since, the squeal has been just under the threshold of annoying enough for me to wanna try to fix it.

I bedded them using the same process I usually use with my Carbotech pads. They were quiet at first but didn't remain that way. And my wheels look powder coated after a couple weeks. Regular washing is req'd.

Shimming/greasing works to a certain extent, but will not work if you track the car. The grease cakes up and doesn't quite work as well. The noise comes back because lots of street driving scrapes that transfer off a bit and rebedding is necessary. Regular washing is definitely required, but I've been known to keep Project Mu dust on my wheels for months...

My personal daily is on Project Mu 999 brake pads...LMAO.

They will make noise without proper bedding, or if you severely overheat them and glaze them. We include bedding instructions with every set of pads.

Sigh, I can't seem to make these pads stop squealing from day one.

I have the HC800 for both front and rear on stock rotors and G4 fluid. I followed the included bedding instructions. I tried it with shims, without shims, with antisqueal, without antisqueal, etc. None could get rid of the loud squealing noise on light/low-speed braking (45mph and below, light-medium pedal).

The squeal is intolerable and sometimes I can feel the brakes vibrating when nearing full stop. I checked the rotors, they seem fine, no warps or anything irregular.

Please help!

Vibrations when coming to a stop doesn't sound good.

Did you retorque the caliper back to proper specs after lowering them onto the new pads?
