That's me. It's a fully prepped STX car. IE tires, coil overs, braces, front bar, exhaust, tune.

Sure. Settings are all about feel, preference, and driving style. Here is a good reference, http://http://forums.bimmerforums.co...05#post7807605

Very nice. Looked very smooth out there when I was working the course third heat. Whose front bar did you go with? I'm going to be ordering the Strano bar soon, then alignment. Not sure I'm ready to go with full coilovers just yet though.

Thanks, I thought all the ft86club folks were in our heat. My front bar is from Hotchkiss.

Yeah, I ended up registering outside of the ptuning group and was planning on heading out early because i had prior plans last night, those got cancelled at the last minute though, so i was in heat 2 by myself. no worries though, still had a blast, and had a great view of all the 86's on course.

anyone have pics of my car? #27 wrb brz..

I was running KW V3 and 33psi front and 32psi on michelin pss and was understeering a lot and front tires were rolling over at the sweeper at the end. I suppose what I need is a stiff front sway bar?

We settled on similar pressures by the end of the day (35ish front/33 rear) and the car seemed to be much more manageable versus the first run of the day. We started off with 36 all the way around and it was definitely oversteer happy.

This was on 245/40/17 Continental ExtremeContact DW's. Stock shocks, Eibach ProKit springs. I'll be adding the Strano front bar soon. In theory it should allow me to get on the throttle much sooner than I am currently able to. Hopefully it works out that way in practice.

This was posted on the facebook event page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/rvamitc...7633301638690/

My girlfriend took some pics too. I'm sure at some point she confused your car for mine, so I'll post them if I find any.

I was getting a lot of understeer at the sweeper at the end too. 32/30 felt the most stable for me, but I don't have all of the fancy suspension stuff you guys have. Seriously considering it, though.

Had a great time - although punctured coolant pipe led to this on my friend's e30

Btw- a stiffer front bar would give you less front end grip, but more rear end grip, so it wouldn't help for sweepers like that. I think it was pretty much designed to slow down cars setup for higher speed corners. It's probably better for those type of courses to be setup for the higher speed transitions and suffer through the understeer at slower speeds, but since that was pretty much the tightest corner and it was before the longest straight part of the course, there was a lot of time to be gained there.

I took a look at the navigation and had it show the route on the screen and that sweeper looked a lot tighter than it seemed on track. I'll post a pic when I get home.

That's why i can't wait to install something like Harry's Lap Tracker or SoloStorm. Having that kind of information at your fingertips between heats could be a huge help in seeing where you're losing time.

I SoloStorm may have some minor advantages for autox (vs track use), but I'm not sure i can justify $200 for the app itself, $200 more for an android tablet, then another couple hundred for a high speed BT GPS sensor and OBD2 adapter. Especially when I consider that I've got a spare ipad mini and the kiwi iOS OBD2 adapter, the app is only $27 for the top end version of Harry's Lap Timer vs $200 for the only version of SoloStorm. It doesn't hurt that I have 2-3 extra iphones laying around can all be configured to start/stop video recording automatically at the beginning/end of each run for various playback angles. It has this same functionality with 1 GoPro (multiple gopro support coming next version).

That is really awesome. I wonder if you could get an android head unit and get an app like that and sync it all together? I hate the stock head unit anyway and I'd like to upgrade to something that doesn't suck so bad.

Here are a couple pictures of my runs on the stock nav:

I have no idea which runs were my best, I did notice my top speed on my first run was only 52 MPH, and then the rest were all 57-58. It's really interesting to see how differently I took some of the corners, but I have no idea how any of that helped or hurt me. So an app like what you mentioned would definitely be huge in figuring out what you did differently and if it actually helped you or not. If you could access that data between runs at an AutoX, and actually make sense of it without overthinking, that could be a huge advantage.

Likely. SoloStorm is $200 though on android. Harry's Lap Timer is only $27 on iOS. I'm working to see if he can add AppRadio support.
