With that 24k, in 5 years you'd have enough for a nice 1 or 2 bedroom house with a garage within 20 minutes of downtown Kansas City...Man I love this area lol.

All this talk about housing and apartments is going to put a damper on my mood.

I guess I'll see how the Lakers are doing against the Spurs.

But I can tell you from a girls point of view - a girl isn't 100% turned off by a guy living at home due to a not so great situation.
I once met a really awesome guy, he was 30 and still lived at home but it was to take care of his mother with dementia.. It was really upsetting.. But I didn't think anything less of him because of it. In fact it showed me what a caring person he is.
I can't imagine how rough it must be, but it really shows you have a kind heart, which is an amazing quality to have
That actually means a lot. I've got this preconceived notion about certain things that is really preventing me from exploring more of what I really should be exploring right now.

I can justify me spending money on modifying my car because it's something I've never really been able to do before and something that will only become harder and harder to justify as time goes on. I know the same thing goes on the social side of things but I still can't get past my own issues to get there.

Just grilled up 12 amazing burgers and 6 hot dogs.

Baked beans, potato salad, more potatoes sauteed with peppers, onions, and spices.

My tummy is happy.

I am the grill king! (at least right now..)

I put so many miles on the FRS over the last two weeks between vacation, the AC meet, and a week in NH for work....it was actually a pleasure to drive the Cherokee over the last two days.

Gonna make hopping in the FRS next time extra sweet.

It sounds like you definitely deserve to have some fun with your car- and I can tell you're very mature for your age so you have a clear head about your finances(most kids our age buy now and ask questions later)
I'm not Sure what you mean by social side of things? - if you're referring to living at home, I wouldn't let that hinder you from meeting new people

I should clarify that I meant the relationship side of things. I meet plenty of new people but have some sort of psychological blockage at the moment when it comes to romantic relationships. I can't get past the fact that I'm not at the most stable point in my life.....

but then... isn't that what it's all about? Meeting someone and then getting to that point together?

I was going to respond to the post of the family and thing before but the conversation has steered into relationship. IMHO, at your age you should start looking for your SO for your life. That said, if the *one* cannot accept you and your family situation, that person is definitely not the *one*.

Just keep this in mind, marriage goes a long way, not just between you two, but also the families that are tied now. A little crack could break the whole dam given time.

Why not see about buying a place for yourself that includes something for the others, a room for your bro and a basement apartment for mom & granny? They could contribute to your mortgage. You could use the money from the sale of their house to help or leave it with them to invest/help with retirment. You start to build equity in a house that you own. You're in a better social/mental situation. And as the inevitable happens (sorry, but it is) bro's gonna move out and granny isn't gonna be with you forever, you'll start seeing more room for another generation of Chewie. It's a big step, but it might be worth looking into.

Just don't be like my wifes brother. He's selling his 2012 Mustange GT, that's paid for ~45K here, to help pay for a Telsa model S. He makes great money for the area and has been for years and at 35 years old he still lives in his parents basement.

On another note, I just finished 4 hours of electronics and math review. I hate trig, and j and suck it for all I care. God damn, who fucking cares about an imaginary number!!! It's just a damn label there's nothing imaginary about capacitance or inductance...
