Hmmm so I just picked up an 8 dollar crimper from OSH, the question is, WHICH ONE OF THE PATTERNS AM I SUPPOSED TO USE??? I can't find a guide online that says straight up what shape is for what. I have the heatshrink connectors that came with the Denso O2 sensors, so I assume I'm not supposed to use the ones with the "tab"?
They're these cheapo ones: http://mcdn.toolking.com/catalog/pro...ty_Crimper.jpg My current guess is the one closest to the fulcrum? |

Man I don't get why these Denso sensors came with shit clear plastic insulated crimp connectors, why couldn't they just pack some adhesive lined shrink wrap and bare crimp connectors???

Random thoughts thread, in 2 hours im on my way to the bahamas for a christmas booze cruise. After putting in more than 80 hours a week to my craft, ive earned this and you better believe sobriety will be nothing more than an inconvenience on this!
Ive rented a gt500 and ive packed a sneaky petes nitrous setup in my luggage. weeeeeee!

Was listening to the song 50 Ways to Say Goodbye by Train the other day and realized one of the ways he says she dies is she got ran over by a crappy purple scion. Now I can't get it out of my head for some reason.

Snoopy!
http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...gIndex=3&Log=0 Might be interesting? Iunno. Was browsing around for cheap miatas / fc / fd. Kinda trying to find a $3,000 - $5,000 toy to tinker on / beat to death. Granted, I wouldn't trash the car...just drive it and have fun with it. Having a spare miata wouldn't be too bad either, given that my gf might need an alternate car if her miata needs work.

You want either of the other two patterns. Whichever fits the connector better. He purpose isn't to just decrease the size but to almost fold the connector around the wire. Oh, and if its available, I'd use proper heatshrink over everything else. Or just cut off the factory connectors and use your own. It still seems weird to me that you have to do that though. Would you mind posting a pic of the sensor? I feel like I'm missing something. |

The connectors supplied were total shit; Coated with non-heatshrink insulation?? I just used the "U shaped" thing with the tab in it, tightened in a vise to crush the plastic and get it as tight as I could, and then I flipped it sideways and used the smooth part of the crimper to squish the sides all the way in, and then I used 2 layers of heatshrink and then taped up the whole thing with half a roll of electrical tape XD Any thoughts on what to clean the "dead" O2 sensor with? It would be great if I didn't need to splice that one. It's only 2 years old
