...wait what? MacLaren MP4-12C was available in US? This is a first time I've seen in person. It's a lot smaller than I've expected

Our local NASL team (which we go to most of the home games for) has a 7W 8T 12L record for the season and even the first place team has 7T in their record. Even worse, two the games we've attended have been 0-0 ties!

Of course, a tie is infinitely better to me then "winning" based on a penalty shoot-out. I'd almost rather they flip a coin.

OK, I'm done now.
That issue isn't new to me and is certainly one of the things that linger on the sport of football/soccer. I think, imo, a draw brings a positive balance to all the teams competing in a league. It's better to get one 1 point than none when your team is trying to win the season as the top team or just trying to make the playoffs. So when it comes to playoffs and the score is still tied then extra time, golden goal, or penalty kicks really helps settle who's the better team.
The experience I have had and still continue with to this day in football/soccer I see a draw as a top 3 exciting result (behind comeback winning games and last minute game winning goals). It leaves questions to which team really is better, were there bad calls by the ref, bad fouls/penalties committed by either team, or how hard fought each team played in the game regardless of the final score. I know it can be sort of a pain in the ass that a winner couldn't be determined within 90 minutes of play (which is exhausting at times), but it's not that big of a deal. It's just one small detail to me and other coaches when we deal with teaching kids on our teams or at training camps to show them there's always room for improvement.

We just found out we're not getting the boat back when we thought, it's in drydock for a mid life refit. Most of the guys are happy but I find it so much harder to do nothing then to be busy. I can't wait to get it back, from what I've seen of the other ships that have come out of this drydock we'll be working our asses off fixing everything they screwed up.

I think I might be a little screwed up, but meh, c'est la vie.

Then SPRAY ON FOAM. Sand it for curvature. Reinforce with fiberglass, or just be lazy and spray many many cans of clear coat on until there's so much acrylic on there that it's got some structural integrity to it. Similarly, spraying the inside with foam to make the "duct" structure shouldn't be too hard to do either although the sanding work gets more delicate.

Maybe the easier route is just to have 100-200 odd k lying around and just buy a supercar with this shit designed into it already McLaren said they were making a more affordable car right?

Seriously though, flying buttress C pillars are one of the coolest things ever. It lets you use less taper on the rear window glass for a wider range of view, it allows you to more or less match the side tapering of the C pillar to the side taper of the body, and it more closely matches together the velocities of the air flowing over the roof and the air flowing along the side when they meet. For a notchback window configuration, it's a total no brainer aside from the cost it takes to develop.
But most importantly, scoops look badass.
For most of your fab ideas, no. Especially the clear-coat bit (which I'll assume you're joking about).

That polystyrene insulation board is really easy to work with, it's just a pain to transport in a small vehicle (4’ x 8’ I think), makes a tremendous mess of powder, and the fumes are rather unhealthy if you cut it with a hot wire setup.

As mentioned been around football/soccer for over 30 years myself, and do understand what you are saying above. My frustration probably comes from having a keeper in the family. You play a perfect 90 minutes, and then it comes down to the strength of your keeper and a bit of luck on his part.

Of course, if my kid is kicking the winning penalty kick (which he has done) I'm all for it!
