Wow, I wish I never read this article.
Why Generation Y Yuppies Are Unhappy

But then this article calmed me down.
Fuck you. I'm Gen Y, and I don't feel special or entitled, just poor.

Late 70s or early 80s is when Gen Y starts (depending on who you talk to), and it ends early 90s or mid 90s (depending on who you talk to).

I wish my friend would stop being so picky about what he wants his next car to be. He's been flip-flopping for months trying to figure out what reliable next car to get so he can save up for his E46 (which he loves to death, despite it being the worst money pit). He's got big plans for the BMW but can't get on top of the repairs enough to even try to mod. He's been going back and forth from the FR-S to the BRZ to a Mustang. I pitched a Miata to him and he thought it was great, but no back seat. He laughed when I said civic.

Never knew how boring my apartment is without cable Internet or my Xbox. Suddenly my 60" 3d tv seems useless. Lol

I'd just stick with the Xbox and internet, cable is useless anyways.

IT CAN'T TEACH YOU.

Working 12 hours a day, 7 days a week for over a month, then 6 days a week for 3 more with the same handful of dudes has created a new pet peeve for me. I hate that, because I strive to be as least irritable as possible, but sometimes you can't help it.

I now hate when people say "set" in place of "sit."

I noticed a long time ago that it's pretty common for people do that, but my boss does it constantly. For example...

Me: Set the chair down so you can sit in it to watch the concrete set before you sit on it.

My boss: Set the chair down so you can set in it to watch the concrete set before you set on it.

Motherfucker, no! Sit down! Set the books down. Sit there and wait. Set your equipment up. The rock is just sitting there. The quikcrete is setting. Guh...

More of a random rant than a random thought.

My friend had his mind blown by that first article..
I feel bad for him, parents are wealthy
Free ride for college
2011 or 2012 camaro taken by sandy
So his parents got him a 2013 charger
Never worked before, than got a job only to quit 3 months later
0 motivation
Thought he was an 'adult now' because he got a credit card.... Sadly not that simple...
Awesome guy, kind hearted, humble as fuck.. But a clear example of how his parents 'helping' him only seriously hurt him instead.

We are not significant, just because everyone in Gen Y went to college
It does not mean we get the amazing jobs we think we are entitled to

You have to work hard to earn it.
*smh*

Haha nice. The second article was good, but I loved the first. I definitely know people that fit the description of that first one perfectly. Article #2 does make some really good points, but I don't feel like life is quite as hard as he makes it sound. Yeah, I'm indebtasfuck as everyone else my age, which is all much more than our parents, grandparents, and great grandparents were. (I was born in '85 and it was my great grandparents that went through the depression, unlike this 3-generation picture they're painting.) But also, I have a house, 2 cars, a 55" TV, a mountain of video games and consoles, a full photography studio, a 56' long bicycle ramp, and a magical device in my pocket that can access the entire collection of humanity's knowledge as well as show two girls eating shit out of a cup at 1280x720 resolution - any time I want, on demand!

I'm tens of thousands of dollars in debt, my retirement is growing at a ridiculously slow rate, the future is completely uncertain, and all evidence points towards nothing spectacular for me happening on its own. I'm at the young end of what most consider the ideal baby making age, but my biggest motivation for not creating one of those little things is dodging the financial responsibility. All that considered, I think my girlfriend and I are doing just fine. I am a bit guilty of the aggressive GYPSY ambitions, but not to the point of it being a fault... I don't think.

Maybe I think that because I'm so special...
