I asked Tony to drive up the street once so I could hear what my car sounded like.. I pulled out my camera at the last minute to record.. it's not the best, but hopefully it'll give you a good idea of what it sounds like under hard acceleration (and 2nd/3rd gear chirps lol)...

These clips are both with the STOCK exhaust, FA20club's 4-1 Catted-Header, & FA20club's 2.5" resonated over/front pipe..
(the exhaust tips are just DC Sports tips from the autoparts store)

EDIT: After several days of driving with the headers, I realized those cheap exhaust tips might actually be influencing the sound just a tad bit.. not sure how much or if it's even significant enough to hear, but just thought I'd mention that it's definitely perforated with a resonated-looking sleeve, so it's a possibility.

Here's a clip of one of the dyno runs..

. .

EDIT: Added one more clip.. cold startup. It was a little chilly, so don't mind all the smoke.. nor the 'choking/hard startup'.. that's just typical of E85 in less than warm weather. At the very end is a quick clip from a parking lot after a long drive.. Same camera was used for all these clips.

Does the header reduce the torque dip with 93 octane fuel?

I've been driving all weekend on E85, but on my way back from work today, I found the E85 pump near my house "out of order" ..so I was forced to fill up with 6.2 gallons of 93 octane.. I had about 0.7 gallons of E85 left in the tank (according to Torque Pro app).

My initial impression is the 93 gas doesn't lose much from the E85. On E85, it might pull slightly harder, but not sure how much of that's just in my head either.. also should be noted: outside temps were ~40 degrees F after filling up & driving 93.

I did several hard pulls, some WOT and some not, shifting around 4.5K-5K so I could shift 'into' the dip zone (around 3.5-4K).. also did a couple of 0-70mph runs from a stop.. and finally, while crusing along at 40-50 mph, I just floored it without downshifting (I was in 4th or 5th gear during those).

Happy to say the car still pulls eagerly through the dip zone. If anything, around 3-3.5K, it actually feels sometimes like it gets a slight 'bump' in power while accelerating! At worst, it just feels very linear from 2.5K to 7K.. the higher the revs go, the harder it pulls.

Thanks for your posts. Being in CA, changing the any CAT can be a dangerous proposition. Big fines.... But I really want to get rid of the torque dip so badly.

There's got to be a way we can hide the fact that its a hi flow cat and get away with it.
