I know it's not what some people on here want to hear, since they want the car to be "practical", but I wouldn't expect the back seat of the AS1 to be good for much more than throwing groceries back there, or someone sitting there for a trip a couple of blocks away.
Unless the driver and passenger is Asian (I am btw) and for example...
my g/f is 5 feet 3 and most of her friends too... we fit fine.

My car will never be full of guys ...
heck ... it'll be myself and 3 girls most of the time
that the backseat is even utilized.

Sounds like I need to find more Asian friends.

you will be able to fit people back there. Just as with the Celica and Supra. I've owned both and the seating dimensions aren't that different than the FR-S. Don't expect to be driving around comfortably with 4 people in it, but it can be done in a pinch. Treat the car as if you were buying a 2 seater. If you're planning on driving around with 4 people all of the time this may not be the car for you.

This is more appealing to me than say a 370z though. It has 2 seats, and if more than 1 person needs a ride, there's absolutely nothing you can do about it.

When there's the weekend to go to the Hamptons or beach, I'm going to be lmao on how umcomfortable the one or two people that get stuck in the backseat.

I've actually had 7 friends of mine in my Porsche 944 Turbo S a couple years ago. Had to get to the other side of town, and they paid me. This FRS won't be a problem

Sooooo not sure if it was talked about yet, but the BRZ AND FRS were both on those rotating elevated display things, so I didn't even get to feel the inside of either car. Kinda lame.

Wish I coulda sat in the backseat for you guys

Its all good.. i have a good idea about room.
Roomy enough for myself, my gf, and two of her
female friends... (( so 4 asians))
I have a feeling this car will become a strict 2 seater
for many 6 footers in " Merica' ".

Yeah if you about 6" then this is a two seater.
If you and your friends are average height 5'8 - 5'10 then it comes down to how picky the person in the back is gonna be about comfort and how much headroom there is in the back.

Though I'm only 5'7 -5'8 I've had my 5'11 friend sit behind me just fine before. Granted I wouldnt make a two hour drive with him back there but I've sat in the back for longer than that just fine with a 5'10 guy driving. And my 5'10 brother, for some strange reason, always chooses to ride in the back when its more than 2 people.

So for average Americans rear seats shouldn't be a problem. If your tall you can probably still fit short people in the back.

For me the rule is always girls in the back.

^ At one point, I fit 5 of my friends in my 2 seater z32. . . It shouldn't be a problem.

I could not imagine fitting 5 people in my Z32. I'd hope it was at least the coupe lol

I found this video and i thought you guys regarding the seating information may want to take a look at due to the guy sitting quite snug in the car:

I'm ripping the back seat out. I wonder how much it weighs? Theres no way in hell I would drive around with 3-4 people with a engine that makes 151 tq in a 2750 lb car. That extra space is for extra carrying products.
