Still on 215 Rs3s. They work really well in this oven of a state. Most competitive local drivers are finding RS3s fastest in this 100+ heat. Rival and Z2 owners are spraying after every run!

I hear ya on that. No point in changing things up if its working for you. Glad you were able to get some replacements and get back to tearing up the course in your car.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPPyYxiuzXs"]BRZ at Brooksville Autocross 8-18-13 RTR #11 - YouTube[/ame]

This is my second fastest run, forgot the record the fastest (D'oh!). This is .2 seconds slower than fastest.

Got four runs in the dry, 2 in the rain. Within my 4 dry, I took second place to an 07 Mustang I wasn't too familiar with. I was perplexed as to how he was raw timing me by .9 seconds (before his more forgiving PAX!) Turns out he's a national level driver and been doing this for 15 years consistently as well as a 3 years in this Shelby GT (converted GT)

On my best run, I got a little behind on the second half. I have come to the realization that I suck at 180s and never get them right. This put me behind. Also, I rode the limiter at the end instead of 3rd gear so I lost ~.1-.2 there (I hit 64mph in third on this videoed run so I know I lost a lot there).

Great track, had a lot of fun. Can't wait for Nationals!

Nice looking course... I actually went to visit an old friend who was in town, I hadn't seen in 15 yrs, or I'd have been there.

Question...

Aren't those Konigs +40 offset? Stock offset is +48 and the SCCA rules state that the offset can't be + or - more than 6.25mm.

(I'm only saying that cause I'm researching an RTR build right now and these wheels are popping up as cheap + light)

Yes, you are correct (I've told others in my class locally). I run them locally but before I go running multiple national events in it next year, it will have legal wheels on it.

When I bought these wheels (July 2012), there were no wheels in the legal offset in 17x7 and these wheels are too poorly built to DD and track the OEMs (I don't DD but do a little street driving with them and they are still bent all to hell).

RPF1s will be on the car before Dixie in March/April

Ok so they aren't worth it anyway? That's too bad they are cheaper than the koseis and look better to boot...

Yeah, they are weak. We have decent roads here and they still get mangled easily here.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=564Xqi-pxUw"]BRZ at Orange County Convention Center Autocross 8-28-13 RTR #11 - YouTube[/ame]

I made a HUGE mistake on this run, though it was still my fastest. I lost over a full second coming to a near stop when I forgot about a hard left bend after a 90. As usual, I feel I did poorly at OCCC, just not a place I do well at. Not anywhere close to happy with my run.

Thanks to the rain after this run, I was able to hold the lead with this 65.0xx. Good enough for 10th in PAX with the proper RTRCS index.

Off to Lincoln to get my butt kicked by the pros!

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFsez3620WI"]BRZ at Deland Autocross 9-15-13 RTR #11 - YouTube[/ame]

Well last week I went to SCCA Solo Nationals. I truly appreciate Trevor letting me use his car as I couldn't afford to get mine out there. But long story short, I did awful. I just tried to watch some of the few videos my GoPro chose to record and they were painful. I don't even want to upload them. I finished 41/55 in RTR but I had an awesome time, met great people and I whole-heartedly cannot wait until next year's event. After my awful performance there, I was determined I would use my mistakes there to improve locally. I used that determination at yesterday's Ford ST challenge and brought in some fairly decent times I felt, as I posted about yesterday.

Today way Geneva, a local track known for little grip. Today's grip level was looser than an OBT street walker. Loosest grip I've ever experienced in the dry at an event. I thought this was going to be a huge loss for me with 8 others breathing down my neck. First run was MASSIVE oversteer everywhere. I had already dropped rear PSI by 2 from normal expecting a loose track but I never expected this. So dropping another .5 psi from the rears, I went out again. Holy crap what some heat and .5psi can do! I set the fastest RTR run of the day, which no one, including myself, would catch. No matter the setup, cool or warm tires, I just couldn't get enough grip again.

Rewatching the video, I notice PLENTY of places I lost a LOT of time, still slid all over the place. But overall, this run was good for 8th place (with the proper PAX!) in the overall PAX index so I'm happy with it. The raw time was good enough to beat STX by a good bit and would have put me in 4th (raw time) in STR, among some strong runners.

I need to get more comfortable with sliding the car I feel. I can correct a slide after it begins but I'm not well versed in holding the slide, should it be beneficial in a situation.

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfaiYZRG8is"]BRZ at Florida State Autocross Championship, 10-6-13 #11 Sebring International Raceway - YouTube[/ame]

This was the Florida State Championship Autocross, at Sebring International Raceway hosted by Martin Sports Car Club.

I ran the fastest time of RTR cars on Saturday's practice. Sunday's event consisted of my BRZ, 2 AP2 S2000s, E39 M5, NB Miata and a Solstice GXP within RTR.

Turns out one of the S2000s I beat was having swaybar issues. Today, he had those fixed. Todd Byram stayed just ahead of me all day. Every time I found time, he found time. By the end of the day, I thought I had it but he ended up beating me by .03

I'm a bit sore about that as every big event this year has ended up with me just missing out on my target (second at Dixie instead of first, finishing outside of top 30 at Nationals and now missing RTR victory here).

The car's setup seems to be pretty spot on to me, as much as I can get it. I know there is room for me to improve but I'd like to take a win in a large event. I've won tons of local events but I rarely have highly competitive car/driver combinations to compete with. I have a looong 5 month wait for Dixie to try again at a big event.

Good show. I can't even get close, 8 sec off of the winning RTR miata. And this is local stuff.
Just too old to think I am still young. NOT.
I have been following your build and progress. I think your doing the Twins proud.
Think of the Nationals and the winners there. Point 03, that's a big JUST missed it.
You will continually improve. IT WILL HAPPEN.
Keep up the good work.

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3JvzO0Dpas"]BRZ at Brooksville Autocross 11-3-13 RTR #11 - YouTube[/ame]

Steven has begun to codrive my car, as we prepare to take the car nationally next year. This run is my fastest raw time. Sadly, I coned it away, leaving my previous best to stand in 3rd behind Steven and Brian Meyers. Steven beat me in my own car but i managed that .1 raw time lead over him. But, That. Damn. Cone.

At least I was running the same times as Brian put me down by .9 last time. I found time when I get to the point I trust the car enough to THROW it into the corner and know it will stick. Ya know, until that 2nd to last cone of the last slalom! I've been feeling my way through too much. I see that the fast drivers go hard and know it will stick, not tip it in and feel their way through.

I love this Brooksville concrete. That thing grips like Lincoln, just without the OPR to deal with

Had a bit of a spin earlier too, rear got uncharacteristically loose on me and I'm not quick enough to catch it. Sorry to whoever was working that station I spun towards, I remember seeing you guys twice during that spin. I was only car on course so I let out that frustration with a nice hard launch and completed the spin towards the finish.
