well if im able to go ill just post my number and when im about to leave. last time i drove to vegas in my lancer GTS. took 18 hours heading all the way down to north cali and heading diagnol to reno then vegas...HORRIBLE DRIVE! 300 miles between civilization and it was just mining towns with one gas station. we left the night before and ended up in vegas around 9am.

but as i was saying before i would like to meet up with a few people before heading down. whatever route is fine with me as long as we have a set time for a meet up point and our arrival.

I'm going to book a room at the MGM. Seems to have the best rates and isn't a sh*t hole.

I booked a room at the MGM using the employees link area86 emailed me. I got a room for 5 nights using his discount and it only cost $400 plus tax and resort fee. I plan on getting there by FR-S on the 13th and staying through the 18th.
@Luke.Cariveau & @Mongo - are you guys driving down or flying?

We need to hash out details, times, locations and pit stops along the route... Are the east side people and west side people going down in two groups or are we meeting up somewhere

I have taken that route to reno many times it's a great route as long as you dont get stuck behind a semi trailer. Also watch for speed traps around alturus and susanville.

This is actually my preferred route at least to Reno! I've only done the Reno to Vegas run once, and then went on to SoCal, so didn't come back the same way. Lots of desert and straights, so a place to stretch it out a little. Went by a North-bound cop while hitting triple digits speed-wise, and he didn't bat an eye. Just have to make sure you are doing 25 when you are going through town! The route also skirts Area 51 and goes by some huge explosives sites if you are interested in that sort of thing.

The wife and I are planning on making the trip, but will break it into 2 days, so will hope to pick up the group in Reno. Or caravan down with the folks who are planning on leaving early. Probably staying at the Hard Rock in Vegas, as that is my fave, but haven't stayed in Reno in years. Any suggestions for where to stay these days?

CANT WAIT!!!

The meet starts Friday so I was planning on leaving on either Wednesday or Thursday. Still on the fence about driving straight through.

I am tempted to go. There is still nothing official set up for Friday. If they don't plan things I might just drive down on friday and home on Sunday. I won't decide till it gets closer, but I am very interested in going
