This is how it is likely to go:

7h45 Arrive and have coffee and muffins supplied by Imperial Toyota Nelspruit’s Coffee Shop

7h46-8h10 Ooh and aah over everyone’s babies while secretly thinking yours is the best!
8h10 Everyone receives Complementary pack from Imperial Toyota
8h15 Pacecar leaves. Needs the headstart.
8h20 Quick route briefing, questions.
8h30 Traffic jam at Imperial Toyota’s exit as everyone leaves.
8h35 JoumaSe finally finds his keys and finishes his coffee
8h36 Sweeper car leaves

8h36-9h36 Huuuuge Fun had by all. GeeTee86 gets lost. Again.

10h00 Arrive at Cappucinnos at Illanga Mall for Brunch and Lucky Draw.

12h00 Disperse and follow Sav to his weekend hideaway in Sabie, via Hazyview.....
18h00 Vic is smiling so much his girlfriend slaps him, he must have done something wrong! Vic doesn't care.....

Nice route!! I was in Kaapsehoop this weekend, and I see that the bad potholes about 5 kms east of KH have been nicely repaired. They must have heard we're coming!!

I'm more worried about the road into Lydenburg coming from GP side.

Yep, probably took me an hour to drive 50km last time because of all the potholes. So for the GP guys - be careful!

You've basically got 2 options, which are almost identical distance:

1. Via Machadodorp, Bambi, R36 past Kwena Dam to Lydenburg. Up to Bambi it's N4 tollroad which is in excellent condition. Last time I went past Kwena Dam was about 6 months ago, and the road was badly potholed. Like - really not nice. I doubt if it's been repaired yet.

2. Via Belfast and Dullstroom to Lydenburg (R540). I was last through there also about 6 months ago, and I think there were some potholes between Dullstroom and Lydenburg, but I don't think they were that serious because I would have remembered, and I don't... I recommend this route, but just take it easy and keep your eyes open.

Once you get onto Long Tom Pass (which is in excellent condition), all 86's automatically go into "play" mode.

Of course, if you're travelling direct to Nelspruit, then stay on the N4 but keep right a few kms past the Machadodorp toll gate and go via Ngodwana (southern N4). The alternate (northern) N4 via Schoemanskloof has got roadworks and stop/go's.
