how old is your xsi? i just read some reviews, it does not seem to support video out of the box, but actually can be modified to record video. im not sure how good the video would be though. the new canon rebel cameras have better video capabilities than nikon cameras though.

i'm in the same boat. i would like to get just used hero 2, but then i look at the hero 3 black edition, and im just blown away at the features and quality.
